I have a 5 yr old son and a 7 yr old daughter.  Both have expressed interest in showing.  My wife seems to like the idea of starting them with Mini Herefords instead of our Simmental and SimX calves. I know NOTHING about mini cattle.  Any thoughts, suggestions are welcome.

Is it best to have a quality cattle, make smart breeding decisions and market one natural calf per cow every year? Or, is it better to have one or two elite females and flush them a few times a year putting embryos in and also marketing the embyros as well?
