I would think there would be some calves on the ground this spring. Would like to have seen some too.

Haven't seen or heard anything yet, but there should be few around this fall.  I sold 20 or so units here last fall...

Hunter Bro's in Iowa had some early this spring. That's all I know. Haven't heard how they are coming along.

Thank you all for your opinions and advice. Also does anyone know if hunter bros have a website?

http://www.hunter-bros.com/

If Hunter brothers are using him his calves must be pretty good. They breed great looking cattle.

From what I understand he the bull was moderate framed and was not a "midget". HIghlanders are not "midgets". Highlanders mature are frame score 4 & 5. There are alot of club bulls that are frame score 5.

Not absolutely 100% sure, but I think that Hunter Bro's raised the bull. Does anyone know for sure? Brent

We had three, one black, one blue out of a pb shorthorn and one red roan out of a bluje heifer.  They can throw some size depending on the female.  They seem to have some grow.

FWIW, back in the 90's, we stalled beside the Scotch Highlands at Denver a few years.  They aren't as small as the Lowline Angus, but I'm not sure that any of the biggest ones would've been any larger than a frame 4, but that was a eye ball guesstimate & I may be wrong.

I think you'd get a peach colored Yak...char cattle are actually red that is really really really diluted.
