    Donor Cows With nursing calves?

Are you talking about recipient cows with their ET calves here, or are you talking about your donors with their own, natural calves?

    2023 herdsires

I've used JSF Gauge 137W in the past. Bred beautifully for me, progeny was mainly bull calves, of which we used two. Both bred well, the one so well that we swapped him back with the purchaser for another breeding stint. Unfortunately he succumbed to a tick-borne disease after his first breeding...

    2023 herdsires

What an interesting sire line-up. All four look to be top-drawer stuff, but "Fillet" has that extra bit of interest for me. I don't think you could possibly go wrong!

    ARG Hector & Columbus

Best money I have spent! I have a fully DNA tested herd as of 2021 and had two anomalies in getting there: 1) A bull, yearling, must have jumped the fence once, as we had a calf by him when he wasn't with the breeding group. 2) We mixed up two red heifer calves by the same bull at tagging...

Why not just DNA her? Dirt cheap for the information you will receive!

    Newborn calf issues

My opinion, although it sounds harsh, is to destroy the calf. In nature, had you not been there to intervene, the calf would have died. Highly unlikely this calf will recover. At least the mother will breed back for a 2024 calf. JMO

What the consumer experiences is the ultimate goal after all! Tenderness evaluation and IMF/Fat/EMA values would also...

    Argentina

Now that I have had time to really analyse the picture: This is the antithesis of the 'goose-necked' type the show judges like! Like: Depth of body, especially the flank area Brisket area folds and and shape indicate she should be 'easy fleshing' Concerns: Seems to have a short neck, which I...

Have been a great fan of this site for years. You need to reach out to some of the old members who stopped posting years ago due to undue abuse by some unruly members, they were a goldmine of information! Be hard on abusive posters please, they are the problem. Thanks for taking this project on.

I acquired the services of a consultant a number of years ago precisely because of this! i believed that I needed some 'outside eyes' to evaluate what I was doing. I had objectives, but they weren't objective enough by his accounts. What I learned, in a sentence, is that the most important thing...
