My buddy has had two this week one out of a Crimson Tide heifer and the other an unstoppable heifer. One was 64 the other 68 pounds. I have a Thriller and a Texas Twister heifer due to him in March. I'm not worried about him after hearing the low bw my buddy had.
We had a Rainmaker heifer 3 weeks early last year weigh in at 42 pounds, she started off a little slow but she got goin in a couple days. Just depends on luck.
Well sounds like everyone has had pretty good luck with him. I guess only time will tell I will definitely let everyone know how it goes when they hit the ground.
10 days before due dates we start checking every 2-3 hours, even on mature cows since we have had 130 pound calves some on their own and some extremely hard pulls. How did the calf turn out?
You would have been putting a lot of pressure on the leg if it broke, I doubt that is the case. Just make sure the calf is getting plenty to eat and let it rest. It will get up when it is ready. Good luck , maybe call the vet to ask about giving a little banamine.
We had one out of a maine cow go 2 weeks long and had a hard pull, calf was 130 pounds. Our second Indian Outlaw was out of a red angus cow and came 5 days long at 85 pounds. So his bw's arent consistent, yes I know it comes fro the cow too. But i would give dex to make sure they don't go too...
I've only got two and they are both heifers. The one out of our Ice Pick cow is awesome, stout, chunky, and hairy. The other heifer out of a commercial angus cow is good and is just now starting to put it on. Both were 90 pounds at first I would have said he is a potential calving ease sire...
To those questioning Unstoppable due to the angle of his picture here is the video posted on Phil's blog.

Had two Rainmakers this year and they were 50 and 90 pounds. With sunseeker in the heifer I would be expecting a higher BW but don't get to worked up over it until a problem comes. I have found that the more you worry the more you think they are having trouble and get involverd when you don't...
Prior to the catalog coming out Bodacious and Smokin Hottie were the two of choice. Now I am also really liking Searsboro, Packin Heat, Red Dirt, Alabama Slammer, and Unstoppable. Not a big fan of Six Pack.
