What was everyone's opinions? How did everyone like Mullinix? Did the right two get grand and reserve?

He throws them hairy, big hipped and as consistently good structured *for clubbies* as anything these days. I'm a big fan. My only complaint is some of his calves can be tighter gutted.

Would love to hear anything and everything about the steer show! What'd everyone think? How'd the judge do sorting in year 2? Greatest show in the world. Always love hearing about it. All you Texans should be thankful you have such a great show like that.

This deserves a thread. I've never seen a steer as good as that Kroupa calf that won. And I've watched a lot of majors and state fairs. The structural package, athleticism, presence, balance, everything was just overwhelming. Remarkable beast. Incredible show. 

Don't see how washing, grooming, keeping cattle in cool barns, pampering them, keeping cattle as comfortable as absolute possible could be interpreted as anything but ETHICAL.

Can anyone give us a report on the show? What looked good? Surprises? Any info would be appreciated!

I strongly prefer hair shows, but I'm a northerner so I'm biased. I appreciate the beauty pageant aspect of a cattle show; it makes it more fun and I simply enjoy looking at/evaluating cattle with a beautiful coat of hair more. Sure the hair element does get away some from the purity of the beef...
