I was told the other night that the first Shorthorn sale in Des Moines was in 1939.  That has to be the longest running consignment sale. Mark,     I was able to attend.  The heifers were a lot better then the prices they sold for.  I don't have the catalog with me today so I can't tell you what each lot sold for.  There was some really good buys, if you were buying.  Not so good for the sellers.
