    Hard Whisky/Irish Whisky

Just a thought, could it be that they CHOSE to just pull a bit of semen instead of large quantities for these exact reasons, so that the demand is higher, and it increases the value of calves out of him?  I have a friend with a large black angus operation, and with their new bull, they've only...

    Hard Whisky/Irish Whisky

I am still fairly new to the club calf world, but I am trying to learn. I have heard of Irish Whisky and Hard Whisky (I am assuming that they are related).  However, I thought they were just some of many bulls used, so I was surprised when I just saw semen on Hard Whisky currently at $200/straw...

    Denver 13 bulls

<nopics> I really wanted to get out there this year to see all the display bulls!  So I'd love to see some pictures, and hear some opinions on the animals.  There were some bulls really heavily publicized, like Trausch and Lautner's, what were the best in their lineups.

    Clipping/blending Necks & Front Ends

I get the 5/8" for my Andis 2-speeds, and if you just got against the hair, and take down their entire neck, you're left with a nice even layer of hair, which gives you a huge head start when it come to the shoulder.  I then take them and go backwards across the shoulder, NOT taking it all the...

    CALF HELP! quick

it sounds weird, but if holding a showstick in front isn't helping, you can always try walking him into a fence post or something, so that he learns to follow you.

    shipping cattle into Canada

I know they have to be tested for TB as well, because we bought a calf and then the calf tested positive for TB, so we couldn't bring the calf up.   Just a sad story : The calf was then tested a second time, and tested positive for something different, so they killed it.  Turns out the calf was...

I think cow has lumpy jaw? Ship now or 3 months after hopefully calving?

We'd had a cow with lumpy jaw, and we left her out on pasture with the rest of the cows until she calved and never had a problem with it spreading.  From what we were told, the only way that it would have spread, is if some bacteria from inside got on the grass, and then a different cow ate that...

Opinion: Do you think a heifer weighing 700lbs should be able to win Supreme

When you think Supreme champion, you think best female in the sense that they should be a good "cow", and be able to produce, well, maybe that judge thought the best female is the prettiest, most well put together animal, and a lot of the times a calf can look perfect, whereas when they grow up...

    T - 84 Blade

They are great for cleaning up lines, so you dont end up with clipping lines all over their heads.

    Wash rack

I'd recommend a drain, or at least to make sure its sloped so you dont get stuck in a pool.  I'd also recommend closing it in if possible, so they can get used to walking into the closed area like at most shows.

    Efficient daily hair care?

Would it be okay to rinse, comb, and leave them wet, or is that going to cause them to heat MORE, and therefore LOOSE hair?
