It varies from state to state, We just processed 2 to go from Iowa to Canada, 1 bull and 1 heifer. We tested for blue tongue, BVD, Brucillouses, poured with cydectin and tatooed USA in their ears. They also have to be clean of ringworm. Don't know about steers. RCR
it does vary from state to state best to to contact your federal vet for all the info they reguire. recently brought one from iowa to canada we got our permit sent requirements to who we purchased the steer from they did al the tests that we required in canada. all said and done the federal vet in iowa did not sign off they reguired a brusilosis plate test which our federal vet did not require just needed to know if the herd was free of brus. so one hick up. so contact your federal vet for info.
I know they have to be tested for TB as well, because we bought a calf and then the calf tested positive for TB, so we couldn't bring the calf up.
Just a sad story :
The calf was then tested a second time, and tested positive for something different, so they killed it. Turns out the calf was 100% clean, and it was a false positive. Was a WICKED calf too
