You should figure out the crude fat and crude protein percentages. That way we can have a better idea of how well she could put on condition while be fed this ration.
I'd say as soon as they will eat grain, I don't raise any calves though. But a guy I helped started them as soon as they would eat it, so that's what I would do.
of course he'll keep growing hair if you clip him, doesn't yours? (lol) and by clipping his head and neck he will be colder, it should help a bit. i always keep my steer's heads shaved in the late summer and fall.
you could build a giant lamb stand (lol) jk. i think it would be better to get a chute for them to stand in at a show. i recomend one of the kirk stierwalt chute. i have one and its awesome
Thanks again GoWyo. I figured it was the big end but thought i would double check, these american measurments confuse me (lol) i think i'll try the syringe trick to kinda jump start him on it.
The bag came witha double sided scoop. Which side do I use; teaspoon or half teaspoon? And does any have any tricks to get calf to eat it for the first few time?
