  1. Rustynail

    Kentucky Derby

He has heat on his ankle and it is tender to flex.  It's also going to be a sloppy track and the trainer and owner are not willing to take a chance on a serious injury.  Very noble call to give up a run for the roses ( especially when your the favorite) to do what is better for the horse's...

    Kentucky Derby

I will be cheering for I want revenge.  I've known the trainer Jeff Mullins since I was a kid.  He is a really good guy.  I agree though Dunkirk will make it interesting.

    Saw dust?

I would also worry about the dust.  That stuff is going to be extremely fine.  It is also going to be alot dirtier than straw.  If you are going to use it I would recomend spraying it down twice a day at least.

    Mini angus

I am sure that your accusations of outcrossing is a great marketing device for you.  I am also posative that is has happened, just not on the scale some people would use to their advantage.  There a many honest, hardworking  Black Angus breeders who have been in it since the breed started who...

    Mini angus

::)    Also if you breed a Thoroughbred to s Shetland Pony you will get a more pure Thoroughbred, because that is what they were like along time ago before the breed advanced.

    breaking a calf

I had a similar problem this spring.  My son's steer would drag him, but was a total gentleman with me handling him.  He knew he could get away with that kind of nonsense with a 65 lb. kid but not me.  I bought a clip in nose ring and hooked it to a rope.  I kept a hold of the rope to the side...

    Do you weigh or estimate

We weighed everything.  This year we are using the tape plus weighing. The tape says it is a 5 pound plus or minus, but the biggest difference we have had is 3 pounds.  Most are within 2.  I might put more trust in it the older I get, and cannot lift the calves. Show Steaks you might want to...

    Registered Angus??? Hmmmm?

Well Show Steak I guess it all depends on what kind of a breeder or person you want  to be.  My family and I have raised registered Black Angus for 54 years.  We have never registered a calf with exessive white, scurs, or questionable parentage.  I have never fudged on a birthweight,  birthdate...
