I would not body clip now. If you want excellent lond hair by your show in August, I would not body clip the calf... just keep trying to work with the hair as much as you can that you have now ... if the nasty hair that you are talking about is dead hair, then I would get one of those shedder...

We are going to be building a new show barn for my showcattle and we are going to set up a cooler. How big would you suggest having it??  And when you guys put your calves into the cooler room do you have them tied or do they roam around in it?

Wow! Very nice steer you have! Looks like he has a nice wide top and lots of fun hair to work with! One thing i would change/want more of would be maybe if he was a lil' deeper in his flank, but he is an awesome home raise calf! That is totally awesome to raise a calf that has great potential...
