    Opinions on pumping

I totally agree with you also.  That how we did the watering too.  We also used kool-aid or food coloring to help them learn to drink.  We had a couple of open shows that had funky tasting water and by starting the coloring at home for a couple of weeks they learned it was still ok to drink.  My...

    Tell us about yourself!

Thank you for the information.  I will have to check out some more Lowline sites.  It might be a year or so before I actually get the land to do it, but I am a firm beleiver in researching everything to make sure it is the right fit for me or someone purchasing from me.  I have literally sent a...

    Tell us about yourself!

Ok, I feel like the odd duck out.  ;D  I am Kupsmom from Northwest Indiana.  We currently do not have cattle.  My family raised mainly 4-H cattle for 20 years. But all five of us girls are done with 4-H and my parents sold off the 5 acre property.  I am engaged and getting married in June.  We...

    Winter weather, enough already

Have you ever tried using a  sump pump in your tank?  We use  a pump rather than a heater. The water always moving slows down the chances of freezing.  Just an idea for you.

    Hello everyone

You are all awesome.  Thank you!!!  We can find a new way to help our youth without the assistance of "outside help".  As far as the Market heifer question,  I believe they should be raised the same as a market steer and not bred.  We were told it was a board of animal health thing here in...

    Hello everyone

Thank you everyone for your replies.  Yes, this is to avoid outside "professional help" on showday to the Youth.  One super said they thought professionals were ok, but not Jocks.  So it is a grey area here.  And one of the supers could not even give a meaning for their idea of a Steer...

    Hello everyone

I thought the same thing on the Jock part.  IMO, a professional anyone is someone who has attended and passed a credited course in that area.  Professional cattle fitter is someone who has attended and complete a fitting school.  I know several fitters who are awesome, but it is all hands-on...

    Hello everyone

I am a newbie to this forum.  I have looked at several and decided that I like this one the best.  I am a 4-H leader in Indiana and former beef member.  I actually have several questions I am hoping you can help me with: I have my understanding of the questions, but want the honest answers...
