Anybody else have trouble with lightning strikes this year?  I have lost two nice cows already this summer....anything you can do to prevent it when they are out on pasture?

I am new to this game, can someone help me understand the hair shedding cycle?  Does a steer have to shed out now in order to grow new hair before the state fair or do you try to keep the hair he has?

Is it possible to pass diseases from one animal to another through tattoo digits?  I sent a heifer to a fitter, who tattooed her, and she later turned up with a leukosis titer.  I have never had leukosis in my herd before. 

I have heard it is contagious.  What do you do to clean up a facility once a calf shows up with it?

This may be changing the subject but what does everyone use for clostridial issues and in particular, if you have problems with clostridium type A?

what does everyone use as a "pour on"?  I am concerned about hair burn...

i have heard of people taking a scraping of the ringworm on affected cattle and feeding it to non-affected cattle to build immunity.....i think it was in a bolus or something like that.  anyone have experience with that?
