I am looking for a job here in the manhattan, ks area.  I would really like to work with some show cattle and don't really won't to sit in an office all day.  I worked for K-State Purebred unit this past summer and took care of the show cattle that they currently have.  If anyone knows someone...

    Simmental AI suggestions

I really like your heifer.  I work out at the K-State Purebred Unit and we breed a lot of our Simmental's to TNT Top Gun R244.  I also like the bulls GCF Mr Amigo and Top Fuel U250 HR, he is a son of Top Gun.

    Leading a calf into profile

When you are setting him up for a profile view try to set his back feet without the show stick.  It is easier to move the front feet in place than the back.  Also, when you are moving a foot back but a little bit up backwards pressure on the lead this will let him know that he needs to move his...

Fall/ winter show tips and tricks.

There r products to make hair grow.  With you calf not having the genetics it is going to be a little bit harder and take more work.  Kirk Stierwalt has a product called SHAG.  I used it on my brothers steer one year that he showed out of our commercial beef herd and it put more hair on him than...

    PHA Question

Had a friends first calf heifer lose her calf.  When they pulled it the calf had a swollen head and tongue, but was only a 60 lb calf. When they went to pull the calf the feet were not out yet.  The heifer only pushed for 2 hours before they stepped in.  so my question to you all is, could the...

    ...........

I would definitely breed her to monopoly or heat wave when she gets older.  She looks like she will make some awesome steers and market heifers.  Even some breeding heifers if you get her on the right bull.

    Walking pigs

I've have heard of people putting vaseline  on the end of their pigs nose.  They don't like the smell so they keep their head up.

    What do you think?

Bought this pig out of an online sale through drive and so far i am very pleased with him.  He currently eats 4 lbs of food a day and weighs 140 lbs.  Our fair is the last full week of July, so he is on some holding feed right now.  Please leave some comments, I would like to know what you all...

    Inbreeding

If the calf comes out with two heads and six legs then I would call it inbreeding.....if it comes out and looks pretty good I would call it line breeding.  There are so many cattle today that have heat wave or monopoly in there lineage that I don't think it would hurt to breed them to the bull...

sept troubadour bull pic to cut him or to not him that is the???opinions wantd

Please don't get me wrong on what I said before.  I know this calf looks great at the profile and appears to have that clubby bull look to him.  The only thing that catches my eye is that he is straighter out of his hock when you look at him from the side.  How does he tract? does he pop in his...

sept troubadour bull pic to cut him or to not him that is the???opinions wantd

If you are questioning yourself if you want to keep him a bull or make him a steer then you should just go ahead and cut him.  If you think he is going to make a good herd bull then he should make an excellent steer.  I would leave him a bull for a little bit longer then cut him. This should...

    Firewater Bull Question

My friend owns part interest in Firewater and she said to never use the bull on heifers, cause he throws such big calves.  Other than that he will work great on any cow, with his muscle tone and his correctness in balance throughout I believe he should through a hell of a smokie calve or add...
