I'll add this picture of a Touchdown heifer out of a Rainmaker x Angus. She wasn't very wide from behind but was attractive from the side. That steer above is going to show at our county fair in August. He looks good right now.

Yes it was just a guess, but she's pretty small. Here's a picture of the bull, still waiting for more calves out of him. He's 2 yrs old.

Our herd bull is a red Smilin Bob x Money Man. His first calf was born this afternoon out of a pb shorthorn cow. We're excited that the birth weight was between 65 and 70 on the heifer.

Jason - We are pumping from a well in the pasture this calf is in and started hauling water to our other pasture. Thanks for the feedback everyone. He's puppy dog gentle, TH and PHA free and we left him a bull as you can see.

The few we had last year have gotten pretty big...just not real clubby. I haven't used him again.

I haven't been to Bonnaroo or Woodstock but I don't see anything wrong with having some fun and taking in a concert. Doc probably wouldn't like Country Stampede in Manhattan...too many drunks.

We flushed a cow yesterday to Monopoly 2 and got 9 embryos. 6 1's and 3 2's. We didn't test the semen but it must have been OK.

We're having trouble getting cows to come into heat this year anyway! It's frustrating but even with the CIDR's on our AI group we had too many non-responders. I guess they haven't cycled since they calved. We used the 7 day protocol. It's a good thing we improved our herd bulls this year!

They need to be in heat next Friday the 25th. We are going to put cidr's in tomorrow. He said not to give them cystorelin when putting cidr's in. Don't know why. Take them out wednesday. Two shots would be ideal but my dad is tired of running them through the chute. I want to do it right lol.

Will it work to leave the cidr in five days and give 1 shot of prosgaglandin at cidr removal on day 5? We are gonna put fresh embryos in recips and need to sync them with the donor.

We gave two cows a shot of Estrumate last Thursday and neither of them came into heat. We are planning to flush both of them. They calved on February 15th and February 26th. Our embryologist palpated them and didn't think they had cycled since they had calved. We would like to get them flushed...

We didn't have very much luck with Boardwalk last year either.

They are both pretty similar in person, but I also like the second one a little bit better. They definitely have enough frame.
