Big Guns seen him or any calves?

We sold one at our sale this year out of a Heatwave cow that was a champion breeding heifer at our fair. He was thick, not much hair and not real fancy but was going to make a good fat steer and easy feeding. Only one I ever seen.

If I could start all over again I would......?

I would have bought some name brand donor's and started from there instead of grading up my commercial cows to go the Simmental route. Although it gives me and my wife a great sense of pride looking out at what we are building and someday hope to reach a few of the goals we have set. Biggest...

    HAIRY WARTS??

Yes it is possible and bad news is once they get it they seem to again. Get hoof trimmer or you can your self cut if off wrap with vasoline and tetracyclene powder for 5-10 days.

    bull named why lie

Genex has semen on him yet. Seen few calves couple years ago and I want to say they had used him on heifers and were happy. Think we sold few in our sale too? Hard to remember. http://genex.crinet.com/addedattractions/index.php?action=DETAIL&code=41XB05101&lang=EN

    Old Cows

ASA has Upgrade as a single birth. Other ET calves give frozen or fresh embryo status. Just noticed that to as I thought I had seen he was an ET. Firesweep maybe you know?

What is the best TH and PHA free bull

AMEN worked really well for us on larger cows. Went back to some Hired Man again. Park Place, Yellow Jacket and One and Only will get used on any potential dirty cows again here.

Matt you probably have a point there. My 3 fall cows and their heifers are still tick fat! Old herf has to be 1800+!

    Bigger calves than normal?

I thought my fall calves were a little bigger than normal. Sharper Image x In Dew Time heifer calf 74 lb. Sharper Image x Jumpstart bull calf 92 lb. TJ Easy Money x PB Hereford cow 88 lb bull calf. But they all had them on their own and they were a son of a gun to catch to tag and weigh!

Any knowledge on Simmental bull Frontier?

I agree with you there. Love how people promote alot of these bulls as an "outcross" when they are nowhere even close to that. It is getting really hard mating Simmental cattle I feel.

Is it okay to trim bred heifers hooves on a table?

If your trimmer won't they have no business being around cattle. We trim every dairy cow 0-60 days pre-calving on a tilt table mounted on a truck. Have for years. Never had a problem only concern I ever have is with a wild one that works herself up. But maybe I'm just blessed as I have seen this...
