What is her birthdate? Sire?
I like her clean crisp profile. I also think she will make a good cow. Isn't that what a breeding heifer is for? So that makes her better than most. IMO I give her a 7.
If you ever want to see people who otherwise are decent, hard working, and do anything for you, be but heads, just go to the county fair. (And after the Royal I'd have to add any cattle show for that matter). :(
Sad but true.
Here is a link that can get you started http://www.angusjournal.com/louisville/09Louisville/bulls.html
The WCC bull in the picture looks to be cleanner up through the shoulders and neck. I would sure like to see both of them walk. Looks like both of them could correct "funnel butt" in the breed.
Interesting offering. You club calf beeders might want to snap up the Rambo 502 semen. He makes them steers hard to beat. But won't have the hair you want. He will give you great females.
I would suggest they do spell checking on their promotional links.
GW - 154 is the stud code for Elgin Breeding Service, P.O. Box 68, Webberville Road, Elgin, TX 88316, Tel: 512/285-2019 Fax: 512/285-9673; according to NAAB. You might try them to see if they know.
Hope this helps.
I love my Franklin Cyclone (Super 10/CY-8 Unit) bale feeders. I have one that is close to 8 years old and in great shape. They are made heavy to last. I have figured they save me one bale for every 5 I fed in the regular bale rings. I have 6 of them and use nothing else...
I have seen him judge it just about every way possible. I will say this, he is one of the most consistent judges I've seen. He will also teach the kids something if it is a jr show.
One should want to present their cattle in the best way possible. But in a junior show too many are fitted by professionals. Not saying that is wrong but it does make it difficult for the ones starting out and learning. Some are fitted by kids and/or families who show a lot and very well...
Maybe the reason the vote total was so low (before it needed to be extended) was because they were clubbu bulls.
I didn't vote for WMW since the worst train wreck for a calf I have ever seen was out of WMW. Dead cow and then 4 hours later dead calf. The calf had legs so straight and bad it...
I have used one similar to the one you have shown. I would say that the claim of 70% is way over stated. I did save about 25% as compared to a standard hay ring. I would like it better if the top band was solid steel not bars.
I have used a Cyclone feeder (cone type) from Franklin that has...
As an Angus breeder, I think it is great that there is an influx of genetics from around the globe. Some of these bulls are red gene carriers (which is considered a defect by some) and there is at least one red bull from there as well. Which is great as I breed the "red" ones too.
I hope they...
