    I need help!!!

I've tried several different ways to halter break calves and found the best way for me is to put them in a 12X12 stall by themselves and put the show stick on them.  I continue that until they let me put my hand on their butt and stand still.  Once they stop moving (and my hand is still on them)...

My daughters first OK state fair

I really don't know what people are thinking when they turn their toddlers loose in the cattle barn!  I was clipping a heifer in the chute and saw a little girl, maybe 16-18 months old, standing about 3 feet from the side of this heifer, who's been known to kick from time to time.  I got between...

Is there an other mini cow owners or showers out there

We've got several fullblood cows that weigh 1100-1200 lbs.  They just don't have the legs that the more mainstream cattle have, and the last I heard you don't eat the legs.  We also avoid the 'm' word when we talk about lowlines.  And we show in the northwest, with a big show next month at the...

    Why is big bad?

No offense taken. I just talked to a commercial breeder yesterday who donated a couple 1/2 blood lowline steers to 4-H kids.  Both steers won their perspective classes - one weighed around 1050 and the other around 1270.  I'm sure the kids who raised them didn't put as much feed into these...

    Trailering

My story sure can't top justintime's (thank goodness). We took some cattle to a local fair this spring that was about an hour away.  We took a bunch of cattle we'd taken to Denver in January, so all had trailering experience.  It was a warm spring day. When I took this heifer out for the vet...

don't put calves for sale on craigslist

We sell quite a few things on Craigslist and we don't include our phone number in the ad. We've had alot of success selling all kinds of stuff and have seen some good cattle. Think you need to screen customers, and email responses rather than phone number works for us.
