Kind of a funny story here.....my11 year old daughter (4th year to show, 1st year for cattle) was in the last class of Chi's. There were 4 steers, and she placed 3rd (if he coulda walked, she might have won it), but none of the steers even had a sniff in sale order.....bad class all the way...

Afriend of mine leased Chore Boy from Trausch (Hired Man son) last fall. Very nice bull, even with his work clothes on. Very thick, good bone, and sound as a cat. He wasn't as big as I thought he would be. I can't wait to see some calves in Aug and Sep to see what they look like.

I'm going to look at some steers this weekend. One of which that they want me to look at is an October Leroy Brown steer. Anybody have a history with steers out of him, and if so, how did they feed out, hair, disposition, etc? He also has a September steer out of B28. I had never heard of him...

What does everyone use fo a floor in all of these? Also, do the cattle run loose, or are they tied? It looks to me like after some time, it would get kind of ammonia smelling in there, so do you hose it out every night?

OK, I did some research, haven't talked with the muffler shop yet about the "Y", but I can buy 25 feet of car wash vacuum hose for $42.50, and a new dolly from Lowe's for $30.00, and the nozzle from Sullivans for $7.50. I would think the "Y" thing could be done for $15.00 or less. With 25 feet...

I'm in the process of trying to find a wrecked one that I could cut down. I certainly don't need a 53' one. Since our market shows are in the spring, I wouldn't need to use it a bunch, just this time of year when the days are getting longer.

There are several November steers here in Oklahoma, and our big show isn't until March. A growthy steer could make that if you leave him at home to grow during jackpot season.
