Move Obama out of the WHITE HOUSE

One more thing. I would warn people to be careful about being swayed by polls. I am half afraid that some of that info is not accurate at all. I have not been asked to take any polls but my wife was called and she had the time so she wanted to see what it was about. She said it was so swayed it...

Move Obama out of the WHITE HOUSE

I tend to agree with you moezmom, even though I live in New Mexico and remember Gary Johnson as our governor and he did a good job! I am afraid it would be essentially a vote for obama. Johnson did a really good job balancing our state budget and limited the size of government as much as he...

Move Obama out of the WHITE HOUSE

I will help you Smithnorthside! Just think about this. If it is true (and to my knowledge nobody had disputed it) and 47% are dependant on the gov now what will happen if that number grows to over 50%? That is the beginning of the end. Obama plans to grow gov and welfare systems he will grow...

Meanings of terms - Neeed Help! Updated List

Great thread! I know a lot of these terms (or what they mean to me), but it is interesting to hear others describe them. Several have been described better than was described to me when i first learned the terms, much simpler. These threads are why SP is so cool.

Options for flushing to Eye Candy and Monopoly heifers?

I used Amen on two cows last year and got two calves he added depth, width, and hair to both. He didnt change front ends much on my limited sample. But I was pleased. I will definately use him again.

Question about halter breaking an ornery bull calf

Thanks, i was curious about the nose ring. I thought it said we had to have one in for show, but I am going to wait till he gets a lot more broke. He is settling down quite a bit and does a lot better for my wife than me! Go figure! I think hes gonna be fine I just got too impatient. Thanks for...

Question about halter breaking an ornery bull calf

So we have this bull calf we want to show (hopefully), we have been working with him and a heifer they have halters on they are dragging them this has been about close to a week we have tied them about 4 or 5 days now. The bull is about 600 lbs n he hates for you to be up by his head or neck. He...

PETA at the CO state fair.

This really annoys me too, and I think you are right to just ignore them they want to cause a scene, anything to bring more attention to them. But the sickest I have ever felt was when i witnessed a religous group protesting at a military servicemans funeral because they didnt agree with the...

Wondering what to breed my shorthorn/Simmental cross with?

We also had a bull calf that we are going to keep as a cleanup bull out of Jazzman. Really like this bull calf lots of bone and hair. This year we AI'ed our shorthorns to Damn Proud and Tobasco. Tobasco was who we AI'ed our second calver to.

    Show Barn Design --Opinions Wanted

From what I can tell it looks good, cant read the fine print either. Are you keeping right side of barn open for hay or pens or what exactly? Just curious! Maybe like a 20 X 40 on the turnouts, I guess it depends on how many head you are thinking you might have in there at once.

    Shorthorn wins Canadian AllBreeds show

Beautiful pair! And I love that a nice moderate framed female like that will wean such a nice heavy calf. Those are the kinds of cows we should all be looking for. Hopefully she can do it on grass now too.

Wondering what to breed my shorthorn/Simmental cross with?

I would say also that the first calf is bigger than 70 lbs. I have done the same thing though thinking oh thats an average calf and when I started weighing I was shocked. So you probably have more options if you care to venture out to more average birthweights. I will say that I have used...

what to spend on a steer?

All this is good advice. In our area though I would say that you can definately make a profit, and secondly definately win and make a profit. Our sale probably averaged $4200 this last year which is really good. And I think if you look hard enough and for the right things you can find a steer...
