    NEED HELP GETTING RID OF RINGWORM!

    just remember killing it is easy [tinactin,  lamasil any anti-fungal will do the trick] but to really get hair going back you must keep the skin moist. Beleive it or not the best thing i've found is bacon grease with a little fluid film.

    Calf Warmers ?

    I use a mat type warmer in my calving stalls with good results. If  I need more heat , a hair dryer and a couple of heavy towels works well .

    Dyeing hair tips

    Don't use human hair dye . Me being half Dutch , decided Sullivans where getting to much of my money. So I went to Wally world and bought hair dye. Can you picture a 850 lbs. Angus steer doing an imitation of a snake shedding its skin. DEFINATLY not a pretty site.

    Stupid Fair Rules.

    Nothing will make that hair stand up like elbo grease on a rice root brush. Don't be afraid to fight that silly rule , just because the state said that doesn't make it written in stone. Sounds to me like your local farm organizations could help you out , but don't stop fighting

    tieing calves up??

    Bump on tying them up for a couple hours at a time. Remember if you go to a show they will have to stand for a couple hours at a time , so get them ready for it. If you get lucky and win a class  they will be up longer yet.

    Lice?

    Here's an  old trick I picked up: one half a capfull of TACTIN in couple gallons of rinse water once a week or so . You can find at F.S. and other supply stores. Its good for lice , mange  and other parasites

    eZall total body wash

    We've had a couple of them. They work great for a while and just quit. The soap is expensive so we pulled orafice  out and mix regular shampoo with Dawn dish soap and add a little water . That does save some soap over the old hose and squirt bottle trick.

    How is harvest in your part of the world?

    Here in Gods Country [ west central Illinois] corn harvest going full bore. Beans are maturing very slowly but coming on.
