    Many times photos not show the real bulls quality. But, for me, the best Lincoln Red bulls were sent to South America, in special to Argentina. Canada have some Lincoln Red bloodlines that are outcross for us, Signal would to useful here.

    Only to remenber all....South American Shorthorn are not limited to this herd in Argentina. This herd is strongly influenced by USA genetics as Tribune. Similar genetics but with a different biotype selection. Looking for good cattle, you will find some ones here. I'm not Argentinian, I'm Brazilian.

    Gus was a bull that tuen lower some big Tribune and Enticer cows. Not saw big animals from there. Not used him directly as semen was available before I start with Shorthorns. Bought a bul from him.

    My Shorthorn are all grass feed. born, grow and die in grass. Best genetics to me, Argentina, Canada and Uruguay to produce cattle on grass. Saskvalley Yesterday is making a good work here, as well did Mr. Gus 80C some years ago. Two Alta Cedar bulls on stock, not yet used both.

    So, based on numbers population, I can assume that Shorthorn is not relevant. Not anymore! In some countries it show some limited practical use on meat industry. In some others is like a pet! So, in reality, the breed is gone! People insist to put "new genetics" on it, keep calling it...

    AJ, all breeds in world are composite ones! The breeds origin is made by crosses. A breed is called BREED after have a herdbook stablished. Before it is only a bovine!

    What is the Shorthorn breed today placed on the register and commercial cattle rank? Shorthorns are the 8th, 10th, 12th breed on register rank? Where is placed on commercial one? USA and Canada please!
