We are proud to again consign seven head of our top steer and heifer prospects to the Canadian Western Agribition Prospect Show and Sale, held on November 27, 2010, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. We are just getting the pictures taken now, but here is a sample of our offering. He is a Tyson x...

    DSLR cameras and lens options

I have a Canon 5D Mark II and shoot with a 70-200mm F4.0 Canon L lens. Works great for pasture shots as the zoom is enough that you don't have to get right up on them and can catch them when they are posing naturally instead of looking at you. The equipment is expensive...but I don't plan on...

    Shorthorn cow-Which clubby bull?

Are you more interested in good steers or good heifers? A bull like Sunseeker or Eye Candy might work nicely on her for steers (both TH carriers, no PHA). If you want to try a TH free bull and you are interested in producing heifers, our Jigsaw's are probably the best we've ever had off...

    Graphic Design ?

I am a graphic designer living in Alberta, Canada. Honestly, there are a very minimum number of requirements to get set up in the promotion/sale catalogs business. There are many people who's only claim to the job is that they own a computer with photoshop. I am probably bitter about this...

    Shorty hf bulls

Just for interest, I've also attached a picture of a heifer calf raised by one of them this year. She looks like a Simmi-Angus cross female, and you would never guess a Shorthorn-influence cow brought her in. She had an 85# birthweight, and a 765# weaning weight. For the "no-trump" crowd, I have...

    Shorty hf bulls

I haven't posted to Steerplanet in a while, but have been following this thread. I think there have been a lot of good bulls mentioned, and that its nice to see some genetic variance…so that all Shorthorn breeders should be able to find something that fits their program. We have been using KMS...

    updated corgi pictures forsale!!!

$100 bucks, even for an unregistered Corgi, is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! They sell around here for $300-$500 unregistered.

    ABS Simmentals

In reading the posts here at Steerplanet, I have realized…we will never better the beef industry by openly criticizing what we think other people are doing wrong or overlooking – especially with a 'holier than thou' attitude.  We can simply set the bar high for ourselves and hope that other...

    CMAC Tyson

Here are two of the Tyson's we have...Had four really good ones this year out of nine and the rest are coming along really well and might surprise us yet. They were all super easy calving. These are out of Hereford/Shorthorn cows and are about a 2 months old.

    Does this photo look fake?

I think they might have added a little hair to his legs  ;)

    electric prod

Actually, I think it IS quite possible that men and women work cattle in a different manner. Like Temple Grandin's autism, perhaps the biological differences between the sexes that influence learning and behavior means that we work with and react to cattle completely differently. I'd like to...

    electric prod

I have never used a hot shot and hopefully will never need to. Its always my goal when working cattle to do so in complete silence at a walk and using my sorting stick as an extension of my hand (ie, prodding the cattle with no more force than I could naturally...which is not much really, since...
