    maine X chimaine

    What makes you say that?
  3. Barry Farms

    maine X chimaine

Also, most (show ring bred) have genetic defects and trace back to one bull named heat wave
  4. Barry Farms

    maine X chimaine

Maine cattle and Chi cattle and their crosses are known for improving Phenotype in animals, taking them from flatter muscled and light boned like the angus calf below to being larger boned and heavier muscled like the bottom pictures. Also they can help influence hair growth

    Heifer Progression

Not really, he has the same thick masculine look that your heifer does. A bull with a longer neck and overall extension would help w/ femininity however she could produce a heck of a bull for you.

    MAB or Unstoppable

From a perspective of wanting calves of both sexes then you want to use Unstoppable or you may even consider a TH clean bull so that they're daughters could be bred to carriers. If you need body bone and muscle MAB but if you are trying to improve structure;+ keep heifers and steers Unstoppable.

    Bruhn Incredible Female Sale

Bought 6 there last year; all were excellent except for one cow (8yr) that was supposedly AI'd to BIM for a March 14 calf. On March 29 she calved a 61 pound bull calf. Definitely not a BIM, no hair, no hip, AND no big BW for being so late. Calf weaned about 300-350 which was the bottom of our...

    Steer Sire

Question: Of the bulls listed (breeding steer only) which is the best choice for 1200-1400 lb Sim-Angus cows? They have decent capacity but need power, thickness, bone. I'm open to suggestions but I'm not interested in shorthorns or horns/scurrs and I do not want to spend more than $30 straw...

    Hey Simmi folks

I would sell the Dream on because the site below says that it sells for $100 per straw. http://www.universalsemensales.com/node/9572 You could likely find a comparable son for $25 a straw and get simililar calves but 4 times as many for the same price. The reason I wouldn't use the Dream On to...

    Breeding options?

Whatever the best calving ease angus bull is at this time. (since you are breeding early)

    New herd bull

DakotaCow; I would be happy with that, my February born replacement heifers are only about 600 lbs right now. Then again the cows live on cheap string hay in the winter and are 1200# mature. Shoot for a 400-500 WW.

    Flushing options??

There is a ranch that owns Whiplash's mother. White Rooster Cattle Co., they have a good many bulls out of this cow and they are all decent looking IMO http://www.whiteroostercattle.com/sires.html I will state that I am not affiliated with this ranch I just like the genetic line up of some of...

    Two Tone steer (updated pics)

IF you don't make improvements soon try dragging him with a tractor. I would suggest that you put a cheaper piece of equipment behind your tractor that way if he gets wild he will not destroy the rear end of your tractor. Also if someone is holding another rope attached to the steer he will...
