    Is he good enough???

I was able to get a few more pictures of Brass this weekend.  I think the pictures let the bull do all of the talking in his working clothes, un-pampered, and unfit eventhough my skills as a photographer are very limited.

    Opinions on another herd bull

I was able to get some pictures of his first group of daughters with calves at side.  I waited to long and most were nursed down already and the best uddered one's wouldn't cooperate, but here are some of his first calf hfrs.

Looking for info on Shorthorn Bulls

I have some bulls that I am trying to find out more about and try to get pictures if Possible.  The first two I am trying to learn anything about are: Eionmor Mr Gus 30B and Sangamon Leader 4.  Thank you,

    NAME THE BULL!

I knew I had seen that picture somewhere before.  After hearing the 7T's I remembered.  There is a picture of the bull on the Hidden Hill Farms website under his sire Clipper King USA.

    Opinions on another herd bull

Thanks for the comments. We actually just purchased another herd bull.  I don't have too many pictures of him yet and his first calves will not be born until this coming spring. He is a Red Cloud 7026 and out of a Dover Ranch cow.  I would say that your assessment of the bull pictured is pretty...

    Shorthorn X angus color ????

Depending on the markings of the bull used, you could get some scattered white makrs as well.  Typically on the legs, flank, starheads.....  I wouldn't be too surprised if the vortec calve will get a few marks

    Opinions on another herd bull

First off I would like to thankeveryone that provided comments on our Brass Bull in a previous post.  He will be going to stud this fall for collection. I would also love to hear any other comments you might have on another one of our herd bulls that is being used naturally.  He is Sired by DFS...

Want to know what people think of this shorthorn bull

From what I have seen of his calves he can work really well on cows that are too framey, flat, or narrow.  I would have to say that the best calves I have seen out of him came from cows that were clean fronted and level hipped, and they were very good.  There are some of his calves out there...

    New JPJ son

I did get to see Capiche at the farm before Denver.  He definitely stood out and is way different, in a good way, than most shorthorn bulls.  If memory serves correct he was just under a frame 5 in Denver but still had over a 14 inch eye.  The other bull I really liked was King Jazz.  Does...

    Is he good enough???

Thank you to everyone that provided comments on our Brass Bull.  He will be going to stud this fall for collection.

    Is he good enough???

Location is one convenience that I do have being only 50 miles from a collection facility

    Is he good enough???

No worries, I know what was meant, but just wanted to show another picture of the bull with some hair.  As for herd size we are not very big at all yet with about 40 total head.  We only AI 10-15 head a year but will be increasing this down the road.  I would like to have about 100-150 straws on...

    Is he good enough???

Thanks for all of the input.  What I am looking at doing is collecting primarily for our own use and to keep a small inventory for future use.  I know how many straws we would like to have and am planning on offering some for sale at a later date.  I'm not looking at selling large amounts...

    Is he good enough???

We have a shorthorn bull that we are using on heifers and cows.  His birth weights have been great and the calves have some performance in them as well.  I just wanted to see what everyone thought of the bull and if he is good enough to collect semen on to sell.  Just a little background on the...

Future Donor ??? Tell Me what you think

Here is what I have in the tanks for semen:  Pacer, Van Gogh, Buster, Osage, Bushranger, Dream Weaver, Vann, Elite Design, Conquest, Gold Eagle, Ideal Irish, Steermaker, Dr. Pepper, Bonfire, Equity, Double Duty, Eagle 148, Buckshot, Gus 30B, Bonanza, Durango, Hope's Prime Time, "Culhane"...

Future Donor ??? Tell Me what you think

Marge is actually adequate (or even more than) for foot and bone.  The picture is a little deceiving with the shadows and the white stitching on her legs.  I would like to see a little more depth of muscle in her rear quarter.  Her calves have been good with clean fronts and great bone.  They...

Future Donor ??? Tell Me what you think

Before suggestions pile in for matings I should point out that my goal with the flushing is to make some females to build/continue the cow family.  Some might call me crazy but I would prefer to avoid anything with Trump and DS.  My target is solid, sound, moderate framed (FS 5-6 and 1200lb+)...

Future Donor ??? Tell Me what you think

Hello Everyone, I was finally able to get a some pictures of a few cows that I will be flushing or considering flushing in the near future.  I would love any thoughts you have on the cows or suggestions you might have for flushes.  The pictures aren't very good and the cows weren't having the...

    NAME THE BULL!

He is also the grandsire of one of my best cows who, at 10, will most likely be getting flushed a few times after calving next spring.  She has been a great cow, weans a good calf, and always stays in the same condition.  It doesn't seem to matter if she has a calf nursing or is on cornstalks. ...
