I've never really paid attention to where the steers are stalled but the building that cash-n-in describes sounds like broadbent arena which i would say is very crowded with steers and feeder calves in there which is probably why most people fit there steers and tie them at the trailers.

If you have the opportunity to tour express ranches i would highly advise you all go there. I personally have never been but i know our ffa chapter goes there every year when the national land judging contest is held in Oklahoma and they say its amazing to go see.

Thanks for the comments guys were hoping to get his calves out on the show circuit next year and try and promote him we think he could help the gelbvieh breed improve in some ways . Were also thinking about maybe promoting him as a slick steer sire? since his calves wont really produce hair...

Its not advisable since she's truly not raising the other calf. Just show her with the calf that she's raising and leave the other one at home with its nurse cow would be my suggestopn

Just wanted to hear some good honest opinions on this bull we raised him and he did fairly well in the show ring but wanted to get the opinions of other breeders who may have a different view.

He's certainly a stout made calf with lots of bone and rib to burn.. wish he had a little more width from stifle to stifle and fullness to his lower quater and was smoother blending in his shoulder but with some fat cover and hair u could smooth that up

Your roan heifer has the peices after some good days on feed she will look pretty good she's got all the bone work there just needs the show cattle condition. Your steer also has some really good bone work he's not frail made and has some natural thickness i think both of those are good green...
