    Weaning Show Calves

Maybe a stupid question, but why so early. We have always left our calves on till at least 6 months. I know they are a little harder to break, but the amount of gain you get by leaving them on the cow more than makes up for that I would think.

    Simmental bull to add power...

Climax. I may be starting to sound like a broken record, but I am gonna praise this bull till the very end. He is doing wonders for us. Here is a heifer out of him and a registered Infocus Angus cow.

    Rocky Balboa

We have used him on heifers for several years. Never had to pull a calf. Seems like his heifers are going to make really good cows. Calves grow good and are super hairy.

    Milk Man First Calf Heifer

I have thought about Troubadour, but I am thinking I80 on her just to make sure she has an easy time with her second calf. Here is a pic of another Milk Man heifer that we raised and sold. She has been doing really well in the Chi classes. Out of these MM cows I would really like to get some...

    meyer 735

If you are wanting to use a 734 son, I strongly recommend Climax. We are using him on registered Angus cows and having great luck. The heifers are great. Only had one bull out of him and he is not as impressive as the heifers. I posted some pics of 2 of the heifers a few days back.

    Climax Heifer

We love our Homer calves. Have 6 calves on the ground out of him this season so far. We have had 4 Climax calves, 3 heifers and a bull. The bull is a cull, dont care for his looks. But the heifers are all keepers. Have one little solid black heifer plus the 2 above.

    Milk Man First Calf Heifer

Her Dam is a maintainer cow out of FJH Primetime. She didn't lose much body at all. She is going to be a pretty good sized girl. Her dam is pretty big too. This heifer has been really easy keeping which surprised me.

    Milk Man First Calf Heifer

I know there are some people that have been wondering how MM heifers were doing. Here is one of our MM heifers with her steer calf out of an Infocus son we raised. She is doing really well. Has a nice bag. Milking a lot better than I could have imagined. Have another MM heifer due to calve the...

    Climax Heifer

It was beautiful today so I got out and tried out the new Iphone camera. This is a pic of an older Climax heifer. She was shown by my 9 year old cousin at our county fair since then she has not been babied at all. Been out in the pasture with some of our commercial replacement girls. She has...

    Angus Bull

Ours are growing great. Of course they are mostly out of OCC bred cows. Used this bulls older full brother as our herd bull this year. He did a wonderful job, we have got 26 calves on the ground since January 24th. Performance wise we have had great luck so far with these cattle. We have...

    Guard rail

I have seen some pretty neat corrals and working pen setups built out of guard rail.

    Climax Heifer

Most likely going to keep her unless I get an offer I cant refuse. We are planning on using a lot of Climax to get some SimmiAngus heifers to retain. Been using the Chi Maine Angus cross for years and just wanted to throw in something different. Loving the look of these calves. Just hope I can...

Seeing some of those cows makes me really excited about my Climax X Anchor calves!

    Angus Bull

He was 12 months old in this pic and weighed 1230. Don't know how much we will push him yet. The Pinebank line of catte is a very grass efficient and high gain line of cattle. This dude is super stout. I cant wait to see how he grows out.

    Angus Bull

He is bred and owned. Out of an Ambush cow and Pinebank Waigroup 41/97.

    Angus Bull

Put this guy up a few months back. Didn't get much feedback on him. Just wondering some opinions.

    gomer bulls

My grandpa has been AI'ing since the 70's and has gone through a ton of gomer bulls. For the last 15 years we have used Jersey bulls. They seem to be a little more aggresive when i comes to breeding. It also seems like they will start following the cows a couple days before regular beef bulls...

    Thoughts on a Steer

We have had several Milkman calves with more to come in the future. Finally got a good black steer out of him to show this year. He packs the muscle and bone on them. All of the white calves we have had have little rat tails.
