Mr Stovall bought land not horses.  He bears no responsibilty to the horses at all. He was using his land for his purposes.  He paid over 2 million for the land.  Mr Leachman knew these horses were on land that didn't belong to him.  Neighbors or enemies, the horses were Mr Leachmans property. ...

    Stiff in her front end.

Just a thought.  Talk to your trimmer about what might be the best for her.  Lower heel with a bit longer toe  or even rolling the toe to let the breakover of the stride go a bit easier.  Worth an ask and try the supplements and see.  Best way is to take a video before you start them.  One at 2...

"I am with you here, hard to read, hard to think about it being done by someone who has run a cattle outfit in MT for many years" We are all stewards of the land we live on and the livestock we tend.  It is so hard to understand when a person, who has been successful doing something in an...

Here is an article about him and what is going on in Billings Monatana.  I can't even find the words....Read it.  When all said and done, they are his horses and he has failed them miserably. I would have rather seen them shot than left to fend for themselves and yes I understand there are...

    Indoor wash room

We have an indoor wash rack with warm water as we have an office and bathroom in the barn.  We have an overhead boom the hose runs into so it keeps it off the floor and easy to drain.  You can find them in most farm supply stores.  Looks like one for the car wash.  I would HIGHLY recommend some...

    Stiff in her front end.

Cosequin and GLC 5500 are what we use across the board on all our livestock with soundness issues.  Cosequin is expensive because it is patented and is the one that has the studdies behind it.  A lot of others try and replicate it.  GLC 5500 has the glucosamine molecules you want.  There is a...

    working stock dogs

Love to dog shop!  I have had an aussie, heeler, border collie and corgi.  I currently have a BC and a fierce Corgi.  I will say each has their merits and I loved them all.  Here is what I learned about each one. Aussie-good farm dog.  Ours was loving and on the bigger side.  Didn't have an...

    Horse Slaughter facilities continued

Pull up a chair cattle people.  This is a horse girl.  Have had them close to half a century and I am FOR the HUMANE REGULATED slaughter in this country.  Here is why: I do not wish for any animal to have to travel  in tight quarters to be slaughtered for too long a distance.  Right now, it is...

    Blog about Genetic Defects

And it seems,IMO, like the ones they are cloning are not only just defect carriers, but also do not pass on the maternal traits needed to produce a good cow. Ie Heatwave, it seems like any daughter of his I have read about have been a donor because they can't milk to save their lives. Another...

    Blog about Genetic Defects

Cloning does not (IMO) move any breed or species forward if the gene pool is continully saturated with the same genes.  Sets the stage for a who new set of genetic mutations.  Cloning keeps us in the present.  I would like to move forward.

    Bedbugs 101

Been to Jackson the last 2 years to show horses.  They have improved the safety .  Rode bikes around the grounds and stayed at the Hampton Suites there.  Would compare it to many state fair grounds for feeling safe.  Still bars on the windows of most shops and need to be aware.  And the catfish...

    Bedbugs 101

Stay far enough away from the fairgrounds too.  The crime was bad also during Congress in October.  Guy from North Dakota went to truck to get baby bottle for his daughter from his dually.  Now he was a big guy and had his rock grinder spurs on his boots.  Thieves approached him as he was...

    Thoughts on lack of heat

This is just a thought.  How much light are these cows seeing a day?  We bred mares for years and the heat cycles for them revolve a lot around the daylight they recieved a day.  If we wanted to get them cycling well they were put under lights for at least 14-18 hours of light a day in November...

    Pepsi

HSUS is on front of human diseases that rob us  of our children.  It is in front of the people serving to keep us free.  It is soooo Wrong!  They use 41% of their donations to help and the rest feeds fancy buildings and inflated salaries.  Yes I voted and posted on a horse forum and facebook. ...
