    Where to find???

I have one more place to try, let me make contact with him first, and see what he might have.  It might be more dual or dairy type, than beef type... although I know he kept many of the cattle dual papered back in the day-- just in the last 20 years or so the beef papers were dropped. ETA:  I...

Future Hereford Cross Donor and New Donor

Typically those in the plus 50 age break give justifiable, sound, logical, well thought out advice...  whereas those in the under 30, and especially the under 20 crowd tend to follow the trends of new, hot, and popular-- these may, or may not be good picks, depending on the situation at hand...

    Where to find???

I'm pretty sure you can register any shorthorn animal, in either association if paying the double register 50 dollar fee. I checked into it a couple years ago when I had the opportunity to buy some pure milker females cheap- and thought of expanding my beef herd with them.

    Expired CIDRs

Ours stay in freezer, zip-loc bag....  I use all my CIDRs twice, and keep an extra stash of ones to use 3x...  You know, on those "maybe" cows, and on that "last one" that I'd really like to do, but ran out. I haven't seen a noticeable decline with the 3rd use. just rinse with warm water, and...

    Johnny Football

TH didn't come from the US, go ask your Professor from WI, maybe he'll give you the right answer... Try Ireland. Any University data proving that beef first calf heifers non-breed back ability is linked to production?  I sure doubt it's the linebreeding- since according to you that pollutes...

    Johnny Football

that's bullshit.. I grew up on a dairy farm, and the breed back ability is compromised for the same reason that it's horrible in first calf beef heifer's...  Too much production and body draining down. I know a guy who's not used an outcross in 50 years, bullshit again.  I've got 4...

    Trim Feet

if she's heavy bred, and you're worried about trimming her feet- do you think you should worry about dragging her around the country showing her.

    Johnny Football

that ranks right up with some of the dumb stuff I say---  no, I lied... that is by far the stupidest thing I've ever read... Line breeding is the key to success of anything, without it, you have nothing.  It doesn't matter if you are a seedstock, commercial, replicative, or whatever kind of...

vut they're sires are father and son...  therefore, still sharing a large percent of the identical genetics... back to a lack of consistency.  and it has nothing to do with commercial or clubby.. consistent is needed in both.

    Need some opinions

Here is our best, and 2nd best July bull calves.  Taking into account time of year born, pedigree, and looks- both were decided upon not being good enough not to cut.  This is pretty typical of the Gates bull calves, and so we decided to make more, born a different time.

    NEW AMERICAN BULL!!!

Very good...  it's interesting to this Midwesterner, all the different 'type' of ABC cattle that I saw while judging down there.. Very good cattle, just completely different than what we have here...

    NEW AMERICAN BULL!!!

I'm unfamiliar with that pedigree, so would this bull have any American blood in him?  Or just some extra skin and sheath-- from a 'more' clubby proven deal on ABC deals.?

    crazy heifer/long story

I would not be happy... and i like to run my mouth- that in combo, the entire board of people involved would hear about it.. and I'd slam on the people who picked this heifer out for such a program until they gave me 2 new hiefers, already broke to lead.. Here's what you do, let that heifer...
