Looking to flush moderate, purebred Simmy to purebred Angus or back to

I own ws a step up, really like the bull, have seen some very nice calves and a lot of big names buying sexed semen for flushing. I also have a broker heifer I really like. Good luck!

    Twins/Bigger calves

Calving out 90 heifers. Have had a lot of pulls. No extremely big calves just bigger than usual. Lots of 80 and 85's. Usually get high 70's. I normally calve 30 purebred Simmys and only help on twins. This year commercial angus cross heifers and Simmy bulls. I don't know what to blame it on...

    Some pics I took today

Nice calves. I love the fall heifer in the 3rd pic

    United x Sierra

Obviously a terrible pic but this is a result of a pregnancy I bought from sanders. She is a Sierra who had the red heifer Hudson pines had all the luck with and united the 3/4 Simmy bull.

    Sir Loin

I agree lets get him off here. What aggravates me the most when I explain what good luck I've had with ddg's they disappear or he deletes the post. I don't know but either way it gets old trying to defend then its gone. Then again no idea why I respond and give him the satisfaction but I can't...

PEM can cause death! ( Polioencephalomalacia )

Referring to your question is there a problem with posting on this site, I would say yes. Stir the pot elsewhere. If you are 60 something and bored, talk to your kids, grandkids whatever you said you had. Play bingo, volunteer, greet people at wal mart. Make worthy of your time, I'm new to the...

PEM can cause death! ( Polioencephalomalacia )

When corn was high, I fed a group of steers nothing but distillers and free choice hay. I had a feed salesman stop by, when he found out what I was feeding told me I would have all sorts of urinary problems, so on so forth from the sulfer. I then pointed to him the steers weighed 1200+pounds and...

Beef industry takes a direct hit broadside!

Thanks for the info, I hustled to the freezer and threw out all my beef. Salad from here on out for this guy. I also sold my cowherd in preparation for the demise of the beef industry after this record breaking news. Looks like you'll bring on your own personal attacks, good luck sir loin.

    Silage preserver???

I don't do any actual silage. But about 6000 big squares of baleage. I've tried inoculates and found no results just extra time and money. I strive to make the tightest bale possible to help fermentation, which I'm sure you know. I had a guy act like I was stupid for not using inoculates, we...

    Recip cows

Thanks for the opinions, just wanted to know thoughts and a general range. In the process of calving 90 heifers, so will have plenty of Recips next year just trying to find a way to get some embryo calves on the ground. At this point yes I would agree I should just buy cows, and do the work in...

    Recip cows

Other than feed and labor of course, and I was thinking pairs in that 2200 range

    Recip cows

Thanks for the input. I was thinking that would be a $300 bonus, figuring the very best cows weaning off 600 pounders at 5-6 months at 1.80 that's actually a 400+ bonus. Not trying to screw anyone or tell anyone what their animals are worth but trying to figure out the point where I go find nice...

    Recip cows

Looking for what I guess you would call a co operator herd to raise embryo calves. Would like them to calve between DEC 1 and Feb 15th. Early January being ideal. Thinking $1500/ live calf with the owner of the cows being responsible with all costs other than the eggs obviously. What's the norm...

    Simmental Sexed Semen

Auburn View Farm this amazes me, it costs $125 to make sexed 5ml semen at trans ova, not to mention you only get 20-40 units per jump. As someone new to the cost of making sexed semen how can genex afford to do this? Is trans ova price gouging that bad? I was able to get them to $90 per straw on...

    A step up

    A Step Up

I bought the bull and he will be listed with cattle visions, conventional and sexed semen. Bought a couple bred to him at incredible female sale, look great with cool head markings. Have done a lot of research and for no more semen than was out there a lot of nice calves bringing big money. I...
