Yes there are nerves that if you are unlucky to hit one. The calf will basically drag its leg around for quite awhile before it comes back to natural.I hit one a few years ago... I think it took a month to heal. Now all newborns get it in the neck.

I watched the sale at Agribition today,but don't have the catalogue with me at the house. But the bred heifers all sold between 2900 and 4000. Top heifer calf was #422 @$7300 and top bull was #406 @$6400.

Hi Bob,  Tamarack is TH free.  I also had him Igenity tested. Generally he is 6 across the board,with a 7 for docility,but low for tenderness.

The lots 5 & 6 look pretty typical from Tamarack. Lot 6 looks pretty special---great depth of quarter and nice front end and they will all have that extra rib of length.I have a carbon copy January heifer calf in the Ontario sale next week.She weighed 710lbs on Sept.7,so she is over 800 now. 

I need a little more frame in Canada--- is the black colour in Simmental strong enough to consistently throw the blue-roan calves??
