I thought I read on here a few weeks ago not to give injections to baby calves between the legs or under the leg.  The reason being there are nerves you can hit and damage. Is this correct and where is the best site on thee babies that do not have a lot of muscle yet?

Yes there are nerves that if you are unlucky to hit one. The calf will basically drag its leg around for quite awhile before it comes back to natural.I hit one a few years ago... I think it took a month to heal. Now all newborns get it in the neck.

How long after the injection do you notice the problem?  We injected a calf on March 10 and he was fine until Saturday morning, March 22.  We may have a different injury if the nerve damage usually shows up sooner than 10 days.  It's possible he was stepped on or knocked against something.  We gave him 1 cc of MultiMin this morning for good measure.

If you hit a nerve you would see signs early rather than later.  Mild nerve damage could be on the mend in the time frame you list, not the reverse.  I think you are probably looking at an injury of some sort separate from needling.

We have switched to exceed for all sick calves. You inject it in the base of the ear. It stays in the system for 14 days. A little more expensive but wow it works. If they are real sick we add a bit of metecam to bounce them back faster.

I like excede because it will work on scours as well as being a antibiotic, but as for an antibiotic i would go with Draxxin. Little more pricey, but also a little smaller dose and works awesome!

Yup. Exceed, draxxin, Nuflor, baytril all godsends.  I wouldn't spend a dollar in those esterless OTC antibiotics like pen or la200 that have to be administered everyday.  Waste of time and money.
