Heifer afraid of water - need suggestions

I used a plain hose without a nozzle.  I think now that it may be the sound of the water splashing.  I dipped a bucket of water out of her trough the other day, and when she heard the sound of the water sloshing around, she threw her head in the air and ran to the other side of the pen.  Thanks...

Heifer afraid of water - need suggestions

I guess I should add that she seems a little more high strung than other calves I have dealt with.  When we first put her halter on she ran around the pen, throwing herself into the fence and rearing straight up like a horse, trying to get away from the halter.  We let her calm down for about 10...

Heifer afraid of water - need suggestions

My daughter's heifer is terrified of water!  If she is tied and we attempt to spray her with a hose, she will completely freak out, to the point I am afraid she will hurt herself.  I have tried holding the lead rope and spraying her, but she reacts just the same.  I start by letting her lick the...

ARB Certificate - anyone know about this???

I have a Brahman heifer, the bull was registered, and the cow's dam was registered.  Since cow was not registered, someone suggested I get an ARB certificate.  This is not a registration, but as I understand it, confirms the date of birth, for a show.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Swine help, Beginner needs help

I just know the ones at our local show all looked like pregnant sows to me.  But, I don't go to any major shows.  Guess I should have put a disclaimer on my comments ;D

    Swine help, Beginner needs help

They like them fat, fat, fat.  Did I mention they need to be fat?  My son showed several years ago, when the big thing was paylean - they wanted them muscled up.  My daughter showed last year, and I thought hers looked good, till we got to the show and saw how fat the others were.  They still...

    Need some Brahman advice/ knowledge

We recently acquired a Brahmna heifer.  We were hoping our daughter would be able to show her at our local show- at least.  She just doesn't look like much to me - and I don't know if that's normal for this breed.  So, what I'm wondering is.....are Brahmans supposed to be as thick and deep as...

    Need some help

I agree that 16lbs a day at his size is a bit much.  I would definitley add the Vita Firm Sure Champ.  It has always helped keep ours on feed even thru the hottest Texas months and really kept them healthy and looking good.

Essential Express O muscle builder - anyone try it??

Thanks for the info.  The label says it will open up the chest and build muscle.  Just wondering if that has been proven.  I always like to here from others that have tried it.

Vita Firm Sure Champ vs Honor Champion Drive?

Have fed Sure champ for several years and always been pleased.  This year we would like to try using the Honor Champion Drive to improve muscle and top.  Is there a reason to feed both at the same time, or am I just throwing money away?

Goat with water on his knee - Should I buy him? MORE Pictures added

Thanks for the comments.  I will probably not purchase this goat due to the knee.  I had thought about asking for a guarantee on the goat from the seller, but I have no experience with them and they live 2 hrs. away from me, so not sure if they would honor it, or if it would turn into a bigger...

Goat with water on his knee - Should I buy him? MORE Pictures added

Looking at a show wether to purchase for my daughter to show this year.  He has a nice top and is well muscled.  The problem is he has water on one of his knees.  I'm not very familiar with goats and their issues.  The seller says it will go away.  I would never buy a steer with a swollen knee...
