I agree that the breed is on the rise and you shoud to the most as a assoc to take advantage of it.  Just wondering how many of you red angus breeders are going to denver.  This is the first year that us canadians can take animals...

    The Red Angus Post

First off frame scores are not my strong point and I dont know much about them.  I am surpirsed that genx doesnt have that listed on there site I thought that they ussually had that on there.  As for the cow in my sig she is just a commercial cow that we boight when we started into the cattle...

    The Red Angus Post

I cant say that I have seen sakic lately.  He looked good and was a very free moving bull and had a good foot under him.  We were at a show this weekend and heard rumblings that he might be making a appearance on the fall show circuit (it all depends if genex has enough semen on hand to keep up...

    Border Opening

I would be more concerned with your testing policies compared to ours.  The reason that we find so many is b/c we test alot of older cows that are sick on the farm and 99% of the tests that come back positive are found on the far and tested there and the carcass never even comes close to the...

    The Red Angus Post

Jim- I have seen the sakic bull in person and he looks really good.  As far as being to big framed I would say that shouldnt be a worry cause both his dam and sire were smaller framed.  Also the SixMile program has been going a little smaller framed over the last few years.

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

I will agree that things happen and all I was trying to do is say what happened to us. Last year I had lots of people telling me there horror stories about how long it took and I didnt believe them b/c our first two batches of tests came back fairly quick.  As far as keeping our shorthorns I...

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

I dont know how many cattle you got but we dont have time to be bleeding calves as soon as they hit the ground. We tested our bulls in January and it took 5 months to get the results back and it wasnt that the test wasnt done it was that the paper sat on someones desk and didnt get mailed for...

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

As far as shipping blood across the border we havent had a problem we have always shipped it with fedex and were able to track it and it always made it to the lab within the week cause we always test on a monday to try and get it there within the week. I would like to comment on the fact that we...

    Taking advantage of angus.

I recently read a article up here in Canada talking about other breeds taking advantage of the angus breed by selling hybrid bull call maxi, suppers and so on.  Certian breeds can even register these animals and call them balancers and sell them as pure breds even thought it is evedent that they...

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

I think that the Th issue is looked at differently up here compared to the states.  I have yet to see a TH positive animal sell in a sale up here, so far they have all passed.  In fact alot of consignment sales are going to animals must be tested th free.  We showed a bred heifer this year that...

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

I geuss I would rather pay more money and get my results back in decent time.  It was no trouble for  our package to get down there and the test was done in two weeks b/c that is what the stamp said but then after that I took that long to get the results back through the mail.  My question is...

Anyone know how long PHA results are taking now?

You know we tested bulls last early last year for th and it took us five months to get the results back and it wasnt for a lack of trying on our part lots of phone calls none returned and lots of emails none returned. I have heard of this happening to lots of people and I just wonder if its b/c...

    The Red Angus Post

As a Canadian Red Angus breeder I think that its great that some of you guys are starting to take notice of the bull power that we have up here.  A few bulls that you mentioned we really like first is the Mullberry bull of brylors he was a great bull to look at and I think that he should pass...
