Your Thoughts on this Reg. Simmental Heifer

Thanks for the comments! If she is still here at breeding age, what's everyone's suggestion on what to breed her too. I'll like to stay Simmental or at least with a high percentage SimAngus. I really like the looks of Dikeman's Double Down and his EPD's. Like to stay with a calving ease bull...

Having a Large 2011 Bull Calf Crop

Our 2011 Calf Crop has really been heavy with bull calves. Even the twins we've had were both bulls. Usually we run about dead even with bull and heifer calves. But this year I bet 80% of them or more are bull calves. I guess mother nature doesn't want us keeping any more for cows, lol. Got 2 or...

    Twin Bull Calves

Yeah, they're not identical twins like all the rest we have had. Usually its a big bull and a smaller heifer and usually we don't have very good luck with them. We've had a cow that had two really small calves but both were dead. Had a heifer that twinned one was dead and the other we never...

    Twin Bull Calves

Twin calves are becoming a normal occurrence here. We've had a set or two each year now for longer than I can keep track of without going to the record book. In a herd of around 40 to 50 Dams. Here recently I did my routine check on the cows, looking mainly at the late expecting Dams. Notice one...

How does the soybean crop look in your area?

Early Beans here look pretty well, the beans behind wheat gonna have a hard time making it without a wet August and September. Our plants look really well and just started blooming here recently. May and half of June was really nice here with rainfall, but July was Bone Dry. Had some rain here...

    Honest opinions please

I'll go with the red one too. Like her glossy bright coat and her depth has a little to much dewlap but not bad for Simmental. To me the blaze face and the black one are on pretty much the same level. The blaze face looks a little longer though.

    SS Ebony's GrandMaster (simmi bull)

I don't think you can go wrong with Grandmaster, there are other calving ease simmi's but Grandmaster is a solid choice and one of the better proven ones for heifers. Good Luck

~The Bull to Breed to in 2012!~5/8 Simmental & 3/8 Angus bull

Nice Bull. I remember seeing him at the sale. The DMN Daisy Mae Donor can really make nice offspring daughters and sons. I've seen several of them and all were impressive. Had a Star Power son from her and he impressed me more everyday that I had him, wish I didn't sell him his calves are doing...
