    Buying older cows

XBAR, what do you think of this rookie PB bull out of JPJ X Double Stuff x Diamond Legs. The bull is TH/PHAF

    Shorthorn Cross for Heifers

After seeing you want to use these calves for club calf production, I would recommend a PB Maine bull.  This will get you a 50%, maternal cow.  Most AI sires have some Maine.. General Lee, unstoppable, etc. This is how I would breed her.

    Buying older cows

This is her first year not producing on all 4 quarters. With only a few head, supplementing a bottle per day to get a good calf would not be a problem or inconvenience for us.  Also, we have Lautner's new PB Red, White and Roan bull and we have access to bulls like No Worries, BIM, etc. If you...

    Buying older cows

A neighboring farm who I have gained a strong relationship with produces club calves and has some PB Shorthorn cows. One of the cows, now 14 years old, raised a Mind That Bird heifer last year who is looking better and better each day, and currently has a Womanizer bull calf on her side who is a...

Hair. Home Recipe to get hair to grow

Be careful with leaving in conditioners.. It could lead to burning off hair, especially around shoulders where most of that water from dumping a 5 gallon pail on them lands.

    Shorthorn Cross for Heifers

Grizzly Bear would likely also give you a decent steer calf too- since you're breeding for replacement females, we both know damn well you'll end up with a bull calf  (lol)

    Shorthorn Cross for Heifers

Grizzly Bear would be a good option, and I think the Monopoly grand sire would add a little twist. It does, however, limit your breeding options.. What would you breed that heifer back to?

    Shorthorn Cross for Heifers

Didn't think about the guts issue. I think Ali would be your best bet. Might get a cool blue roan.

I80 vs I67 vs Jesse James

Personally I think No Worries will give you the best calf out of that baldy heifer. Should be chromed up as a bonus. He will definitely add guts to her also. Benz could be another option but again, he is a tick straight also. Here is a No Worries x Walks Alone calf from the Executive Sires Blog.

    TH breeding

Okay I'm not 100% positive and biology is a year removed so I'm kinda rusty: Tt bred to Tt (both heterozygous carriers)       T    t T  TT  Tt t    Tt  tt TT-dead (25%) Tt-carrier (50%) tt-free (25%)

I80 vs I67 vs Jesse James

Let me look at some things and I'll get back to you I am short time. Just really don't want you to get a cripple from I80 and be disappointed.

I80 vs I67 vs Jesse James

This is a prime example of who he won't work on IMO- I think your heifer is a little too straight and while she has great body length, the depth really isn't there.

    no worries

Had experience with 6 calves of a good friends where I am at most every day. Come small out of first calf heifers and grow like weeds. Great bone, pretty good hair except for one bull calf who has the worst case of Hereford hair I have ever seen, but it is straightening out with age. I've had...

    Suggestions for 2nd calvers?

No Worries- has always thrown a calf with Crome even when bred to a black cow.

    Need info on these bulls

Walks Alone or Thriller most likely- though I haven't seem many fat WA that I like. Paddy breeds more maternal. Haven't seen much from Presidential, My Turn, or Black Gold.  We need to see some pictures to really evaluate.. Any one of these bulls can throw a stud or a sale barn calf.
