Straight Pipe Vehicle...... not cattle related

I would suggest one of the new high performance mufflers. The growl a bit without the "redneck rattle" of a straight pipe. We had a 2001 Bonneville and it was awesome. Ran like a streak of sh*t, handled great, and still hauled the wife and two kids comfortably.

you can register PHA bulls again but not till 9-1-09

I can't wait until DL chimes in on this thread.  Maybe the AMAA can start registering AMC Angus bulls as foundation stock. Then we can have all of the horrible genetic defects. This will really help draw in those commercial guys to buy our bulls. What a disgrace!

    Weather (Iowa and Nebraska)

We've had about 3 inches rain since Sunday night. Luckily I have a nice pasture with a shed where my calves can stay reasonably dry. My other cow lot is a wreck. Mud's a foot deep.

    Waiting on a cow...

IT'S A BOY! He's up and nursing. I love them DH calves. They look good and are vigorous at birth.

    need suggestions

I saw a bunch of Total Solution and Rocky Balboa calves last weekend. The Rocky's were real hairy and real small but may not have enough bone. Time will tell. The TS calves were really small and cool looking but he said they don't have much grow. You need to breed him to some larger framed hfrs...

    Waiting on a cow...

When you don't have a huge cowherd every cow that calves is an event. I have a cow that bagged up tight today and started acting "funny". We locked her up tonight and are playing the waiting game. The wind is blowing 40mph and we could be in for some severe weather tonight. Why don't she just...

    RED

I am new to the Planet but was involved in many genetic defect discussions on Showsteers. Red was always a sweetheart and could bring calm to some very heated discussions we had back in the day. She was an icon. When I read the news I had the same sinking feeling in my heart as I did when my...

    Dirty Harry Calves

I was happy when I first saw both of mine. Everyday they look even better. I'll try to post pics today. I have one more coming out of a K&A Maverick cow. She's due Wed but looks like she won't last that long. My first two came a few days early.

Looking for a Clubby Bull that will increase frame size and create great fronts

My Sunseekers have always had plenty of grow, hair, and muscle. Another real good bull is Hairy Bear. He has an awesome long front and his calves are hairy and grow well.

    marble bone in Red Angus

My black is club calves or Maines. Never owned an Angus except what's in the Maines and club calf genetics. I do have a red NFL out of a Windsor dam that is a spitting image of a Red Angus. She has the dark muzzle like many RA cattle Thanks for the info, DL

Is there a prejudice for "fluffy" women? N/C

Don't we all like our girls stout, soggy made, sound, big boned, and hairy?  (lol)

Ohio Beef Expo:slight change of plans

I plan on putting him to the test this year. My daughter has the prettiest Maine cow there ever was. She's never raised a calf good enough for the local sale barn. She will get him. I've tried Ali, Dr Who, Jazz son with awful results. I gave a lot of money for her otherwise she'd been gone by...

    Would you fudge on age?

I won't buy those smaller "May" hfrs unless I know the breeder and trust them. Small May hfrs are usually early March's that won't grow.

To fudge or not to fudge, that is the question!

Big cows can have big calves. I have a 1700 lb cow that has a 90-100 lb calf every year with no problem at all.Why give up that 20-30 lbs at birth if you have big cows. If I have calves above 8% of cows weight then I get nervous. Otherwise as long as my small cows are having small calves...
