    Calving Ease with color?

We've  not had great luck with Troubador on small cows, I'd not use him on heifers personly.

    Sexed Semen in Flushes

Expect 1/2 or less the embryos using only sexed.  Personally if u want only heifers I would only use sexed, must have at least 15 million count total to have ur best chance.  In the past we've  bred 3 straws, 5 million a piece and bred 1 early and 2 10hrs later.  Depends on goals and receipts...

Monopoly.....if ur gonna spend the $ and time to flush use the best.  Proven great on fullbloods...love the LT breeding on her, nice cow.

    Angus breeding opinions wanted

I would look hard at MCATL Pure Product....he is one of the best young and underrated angus bulls out there and is easy calving. http://www.musgraveangus.com/herdsires/MCATLPureProduct903-55.html

    Paddy O'Malley Females

Wondering what folks thoughts are on this?  I know he has been around for a while but I have never used him, curious on those who have females of his in production and what they like/dislike?  Will he add body and/or milk?

    Hairest Simmy Bull

Thanks for the nice comments, we are exited to see his impact.  He is a little over a 5/8's Simmental by blood but is only registered as a 1/2 blood....his other 3/8ths would be chi and maine.  He is sired by Chopper and his mother is a Friction x a bull called Ricochet, he is a (Meyer x Black...

    Hairest Simmy Bull

He ran with cows at Rhoades Cattle in June-Aug and then Nathan has been getting him collected at Great Lakes Sire Services and has had great quality.  Basically when he was purchased he had not been collected or attempted, this was in April.  Lots of young bulls that have been purchased early or...

    Hairest Simmy Bull

I would vote Chinook vor obvious reasons....but seriously he will add a bunch of hair, power and look with Baldies on both side of his pedigree and a never miss cow.  Semen will be available commercially this winter.

    Unstoppable

Use him on bigger cows, he is really cool, stout and sound.  Best calves I've seen from him came off more traditional Chi-angus type females.

End of a Legacy-MSU Hereford Dispersal

Budget cuts are real….it is evident in this state and University, for me to comment about the music therapy program would be fruitless as I know nothing about this program or why it was cut.  What I do know is that the PBB did not have to go like it did; you apparently stand behind a newer...

End of a Legacy-MSU Hereford Dispersal

It is clear that I don't share the same vision of what the program was as DL, we are all entitled to our opinions.  However, this was the Gem of the Animal Science program with more heritage and meaning than most.  While a University must balance research and teaching it seems very strange that...

End of a Legacy-MSU Hereford Dispersal

Yes, they kept young heifers that were the last pick out of groups run in the ring so...genetically good, phenotypically very average.  If you don't have a good manager that has good stock to work with you have nothing.  The point of throwing away all that was worked for is truly sad.

End of a Legacy-MSU Hereford Dispersal

Lots of falsities and damage control in that letter.  The implication that the manager and former faculty coordinator (Dr. Hawkins) suggested the Hereford herd be sold is complete BS.  The fact remains that there was certain vendettas against the purebred beef barn with certain people...
