What are thoughts on Saskvalley Yesterday 116Y to use on these females?

Look to breed for replacement heifers to help build our herd. Also we will be showing along the way. But we are looking to breed for functional females that have that appeal in the show ring which is our second priority.

I am wondering what others would suggest breeding our heifers too? We are open to suggestions but prefer to use a shorthorn bull, thinking about Captain Obvious, MAV Bellringer, Hot Commodity. Any other suggestions.

Has anyone used this bull with success? What are your thoughts on using this bull on heifers? His EPD states a 6.0 calving ease. Any input or pictures of calves out of him would be greatly appreciated.

We use AAOK ration on our heifers with a lower percentage of corn, but is high in cottonseed and fiber creating "gut fill" expansion in that gut making them look fuller. We also use precon/ receiving chow from purina when starting calves out seems to give them a fresher appearance and continue...

Anyone have any good rations for feeding heifers. Was considering using AAOK ration and supplementing Honor Pre conditionh/ Recieving chow? Let me know your thought or if you have a ration that works well for keeping heifers looking fresh for the ring without heavy fat deposition.
