Stool does have a different smell.  We are feeding sodium bicarb and Mg oxide and have treated for coccidiosis and there is rumensin in the feed.

Feeding 5-8 lbs of high quality grass hay each day.  Concern is more hay equals less grain, less grain, less gain

Trying to push steer as hard as we can to gain weight but steer has extremely loose stool.  Is there anything that I can give or feed him to tighten him up some.  Thanks in advance.

This is what I have done and works well.  Use black velvet from Sullivans,  have tried everything else and other things do not dye as easy and look as good.  I put the two dye bottles (4-5 will do an animal) in a spray bottle and wash the dye bottles out with warm water and add that to the spray...

If showing now, dye it and use it to your advantage.  Sullivans black velvet works well.  If showing later this summer then grill brick and elbow grease.  Also feed supplements to add shine and hair growth.

Does it matter whether or not the steer has just been washed.  Some say you need to have the calf clean, while Sullivans say to not have washed the calf for 4-5 days to make sure the hair oil will help the dye not burn the animal.  Any ideas? thanks for all the help.  Right now I am planning on...

Have dyed a couple of red tinted steers and still can see a little red.  I have tried two different dyes ( one is sullivans black  velvet he other revlon from walmart), two different application methods (one using spray bottle with straight dye and the other using a fogger mixing with kleen...

I have been using a mix of Kleen sheen, vinegar, and infusium everyday.  I like what it seems to be doing so far.  I also use Revive 1 to 2 times a week.  But I am open to any other suggestions.

Do feed supplements (ex. Shag) for increased hair growth work?  If so which seem to be the best???      Thanks
