loose stool

Trying to push steer as hard as we can to gain weight but steer has extremely loose stool.  Is there anything that I can give or feed him to tighten him up some.  Thanks in advance.

Feeding 5-8 lbs of high quality grass hay each day.  Concern is more hay equals less grain, less grain, less gain

I would also try hitting him up with some probios too..just to watch his gut.

How loose?  Watery or just hard to pick up?  Loose is not a bad thing, just hard to clean up.  If its not watery like diarrhea and you don't see much/any grain in it then you're in the good.  He is utilizing all the grain and doing good.

Stool does have a different smell.  We are feeding sodium bicarb and Mg oxide and have treated for coccidiosis and there is rumensin in the feed.
