    Cattle Classic Florida

I havn't showed at many prospects. Just state fairs, county fairs, and national shows...Two of my calves absolutely HATE hot weather. But I have fans, so maybe they wont be so bad. I have to keep two of the calves under fans right now, and its not overly hot in the barn.. Thanks for the heads up.

What is your definition of a terminal show????

I had a goat that had hurt himself, I took him home after the sale. but never a steer.. by that time I was kinda ready to get a new one, not to sound mean. But some of the steers go to feedlots, and the hogs and goats go to a market i think. I know the state fair steers all go up north to be fed...

What is your definition of a terminal show????

This is how it works at our county fair, Some of the steers go to the university of Florida feedlot, the ones that aren't finished yet. the At our fair the buyer can choose to "custom Kill" or to not take the meat of the steer, hog, or goat. On the other hand you can buy back the animal for a...

    Steer opinions

For the state steer program in Florida, they get the steers from commercial cattlemen in FL, so about 98% of them are Brahman influenced, because that's what survives the best here under those conditions. Some of the calves have only seen people a couple of times in their life before the...

    Steer opinions

The Charolais steer is not bred or meant to be a "show Steer" He was bred by commercial cattlemen down south for carcass performance. He has just came off of a BIG ranch.. He is a range steer that you have to take back down there later and show.. I am feeding him all he can eat, and doesn't care...
