    Chopper

How is Chopper for calving ease?  See his actual BW must've been pretty high (95# adj.). Is he an absolute no for heifers? Thanks.

    Simmental Breeding Question

That's far enough away on the dream on that you should be o.k.  We've bred similar to that with good results.  Good cow family.

    Preparing recipient cows for Embryos

Curious how long most of you wait post-calving before putting embryos in recips?  I hate to try to push them up too much.  Some cows come back in to heat quite early. Thanks.

NLC Mr. Upgrade...breeding him to heifers?

Does anyone have experience calving heifers bred to Upgrade? His numbers are currently 9.6 CE and -.3 BW, so that looks plenty good. I'd just like to hear how he has worked for any that have experience calving heifers bred to him. Thanks for any help.

The cow is a good cow... And the Benes boys do as well as anyone getting cattle prepped and ready.... Don't know much about the bull, but I bet he'll work.

    Planned C-sections

Gotta throw in my 2 cents.... We've had several unplanned zippers through the years...We don't take chances; if it looks like it's gonna be tough coming out the natural way, they come out the side...especially on heifers or ET's.   Past experience...have never had an issue with a C-Section...

    Aluminum Livestock Trailers...Opinions Please

In the market for a new Aluminum trailer. Would like to hear opinions...what you like and dislike on any trailers that you have experience with. Talked to a Wilson salesman over the weekend, and got his salestalk.  Sounded good...sounds like this is mainly riveted construction, minimal...

    Simmental bull to add power...

I sent the original poster a PM first with my thought, but decided I might as well post for all to see. Our new bull with Genex; BCLR Ammo, had a really powerful, stout first calf crop at our place and at Bichlers.  We purchased Ammo to be an outcross growth sire, and he has met our...

    NLC Mr. Upgrade calves

We now have plenty of experience with Upgrade.  Calves very nicely.  Our calves have plenty of style with good muscle and body.  Like him as well as any bull we have used in the last several years.  I'm thinking he should work fine on heifers too.  Still waiting for the smokin' baldy heifer...

    Best Red Simmental Bull

Tell you what...we've bred to several red bulls through the years.  Had our first WS Beefmaker calf this year.  Have a red heifer that is as good as any red one we've ever had...Beefmaker would be one to think about.

    734 semen

haven't seen much sell lately, but I think the prices have backed down some in the last year or so...I'd agree with the $400 to $500 deal...

Thanks Jason and Steer Planet !

Thanks for coming out, Altsimmy 79.  I agree with the comments.  All of the steerplaneteers that I have met in person seem to be top-notch people.  Hard to beat the darn to earth, country folks that are in the cattle business!

    Schaff Angus Valley

[I tend to disagree with the above statement.  First off, congratulations to SAV!  They have done a masterful job of promoting and breeding a program that people see value in.  They also feed extremely well and must feed these cattle all they want from the time they are born.  In reply...we now...
