    Feeber lambs - DL

My mom just got 10 cull ewes to eat her grass down.  Hubby works at a sale barn so he just got them for her.  Since she has never had sheep either she wanted something cheep that if she killed it it wouldn't be too expensive.  So far they are eating all the weeds down and are still alive.  She...

    Sale Prices@ smaller fairs

Ours is toally premium based bidding.  SO if you bid $500.00 the kid gets the $500.00 plus market.  We also have bidders sheets where a kid can go around and get a bunch of people to go in together and buy his/her animal.  You can not believe the amount of money that flows though our fair.  I do...

    Another confession- I'm a packrat!

I boxed up a bunch of stuff and put it in the basement.  Then a couple of days ago I took it to my Sister in laws for a garage sale.  There were things in there I wanted to keep- but forced myself to get rid of.  I would only allow myself to bring home 1 box of unsold items.  Everythign else...

    Cow Calf Pair help

I would take a look at your cows udder when you turn them out in the evening.  See how it looks, if it looks pretty good then I would try and keep the calf off her that long before the show if possible.  Perhaps when you check on the cow during the day get her up and see how her udder looks...

    Question For Everyone....

I had a cow one time that was killed by something pretty big.  It broke her neck and left some pretty big puncture wounds in her.  There were reports of a Lion on the loose in the area (southern OH) but nothing was ever found. Mothman- that freeks me out!  My aunt and uncle went down to that...

    Health insurance

I just don't understand how Canada and the UK (I think) have socialized medicine and it is obviously not working but our government for some dumb reason thinks it can work for us.  Yeah, the same government that can not even run a restaurant thinks they should be in charge of our health care. ...

    Disturbing News- not cattle related

At what point did we (as a race) become so sensitve to relationships and the lack there of?  Back in the 1600's 1700's 1800's and even 1900's the live expectancy wans't all that great.  I am sure some kids (Including my father) spent a majority of their childhood with at least one parent who was...

    Disturbing News- not cattle related

They need to come up with a shot or something they can give babies when they are born so that they can not procreate until they are 25 or something.  It is a fact that people in their early 20's still do not have the ability to think about potential concequences of their actions.  I would have...
