I also had a tough time wasting semen on cows that didn't show heat, but I have found that a lot of them do take even with no sign of heat.  I have also found that some AI bulls work better then others when you are doing the time AI.  We AI'd our cows on 6/7 but have been checking heats and so...

If you go to absglobal.com or selectsires.com they both have protocol onthere you can choose from.  We have our best luck when we check heats for 7 days prior to putting cidrs in (as those will be less likley to respond) and AI them.  Then we pull cidrs and watch for heats.  We AI off of heats...

Thank you for your comments  :) Was mostly courious on the CE and BW on them.  You can have the greatest calf in the world but if you can't get him delivered or have to shoot your cow in the end it doesn't matter.  Glad no one is reporting calfing trouble so far Fluffer

Oh heak yeah!  You have to appreciate a vet who will look you in the eye and tell you that what your doing is all wrong and tell you how to fix it.  He will shoot you straight, so will his wife!  I love them to death!  They don't BS you either.  He is honestly one of the best large animal vets...
