    all OK?

Red, We actually had the early developments, of the tornado that hit Picher, OK, hit us on the highway. While traveling on the highway, my wife said "look at all those birds". I looked and soon realized..."Honey those aren't birds!!" I jerked the Suburban (full of my boys) off the highway. It...

Just For Fun: Cute things said by your kids!

RSC, thanks for the comment. If you only knew how hard it was to keep those hussies from eating on the hay!! But, the boys loved it.

Just For Fun: Cute things said by your kids!

My 3 yr old (Lane) has quite the vocabulary. He consistantly cracks us up. We tell him...Jesus loves you...He says, I know Daddy. We ask, who's Jesus' daddy...He says God. We ask where do they live...He says, In Heaven. So one night we were all eating Strawberry shortcake. I said, now this is...

    AI Problems

Jill, I should clarify my statement. What I really was trying to say was this...It is alot less time consuming and easier to sync your cows for AI. I would love to have the time to natural heat them all. I just don't have that time and wish that I did!

    AI Problems

Bradycreek, For the little extra $, I feel very strongly about syncronizing your cows. We put CIDR's in on a Wed night with a shot of systerellen (sp). The following Wed night we pull the CIDR's, give a shot of Lutalyse, and put Estrus Alert patches on. We pull all calves off on Thurs morning...

    Feet Problems!

Since I started using a good mineral WITH probiotics, my normal yearly foot rot problems are gone. Your suggested treatment is common and the way that I treated it in the past. But, since the mineral, I haven't had any foot rot in two years.

    Round Up Rumor

When Monsanto's patent ran out, Round Up went down considerably. As we all saw. What happened was a multi-fold development. All the above reasons are very true. But, the biggest reason was this...Monsanto bought out most of the competitors that were selling the "generic Round Up". Our chemical...

    Looking for Photos

Daniel, I had two Manchild calves around Feb 14 this year. The pics are at 1 month old. They are really turning out nice. Very thick and sound. Tons of hair. We clipped the head and neck of the baldie last week to see. She is much more clean fronted than she looks with all that hair. I used him...

    Describe yourself in cattle terms!

Bull, 6 frame, bc of 6. Probably about 5years old. I once was darker haired but now have turned into a Blue Roan. I must be clubby 'cause I can't move too good. bad wheels. They still keep me around 'cause I still have the potential (on a good day) of covering a large herd.

    Walking steers

An 1100# steer is no harder to stretch than a horse. just hurts your back more!! front leg extended out forward and held for 20 sec. motion the forelimb above the knee to move the scapula (shoulder blade) around. grab the tail ( not tail head) and just lean back. calf will get used to this and...

    Walking steers

Knabe is right. I am a certified animal chiropractor. I work on horses, bucking bulls, and show cattle only. You would be amazed at the difference stretching makes on cattle. Exercise is essential. It has always amazed me how much time, energy, and money horse people spend making sure their...

Can any angus breeders help me??

If you have to use one from your list, I would use TC Freedom. Hard to say without actually seeing your cow. Totally agree with Rusty, would like to see you use something newer. If thats an option, I would use Mytty In Focus, or Dr J Analyst M250. Both are throwing some awesome calves...

    Suggested mating for Heatwave cow?

Need some bull suggestions for my 3yr Heatwave cow. I don't have pic but will describe. She is out of a Meyer/Emblazon momma.  She is very deep, good bone, tons of hair. Where she needs the help is ... 1) needs some stretch to her neck- shes pretty clean fronted, just kinda steery necked 2)...
