    WAGR Target 151Y

We bought a heifer from Jeff miller who is sired by Target, and a half blood (dam is a Poca Creek cow). She is at best average. Very plain and flat, but I bet she goes on to make a great cow. Other Target calves I have seen never made it out of the pasture, same story.

    buying frozen embryos

We put embryos in from November to May, but not usually beyond that. Only because that is what works for us. We seem to get better conception in the fall than the spring, might be weather related.

    buying frozen embryos

Below is a few pics. The calf pics is the genetic match I bought from Jeff Miller, Club King x 3/4 dream on cow. Of 5 embryos, we have put 4 in. Of those 4, we have had 3 bulls and 1 heifer. The pics are of the heifer. I am unable to find a show pic of her, but she is a meat wagon. Her fault was...

    Lock n Load bull

Thanks! Yep, my main fault on him is being a little straight. At times you see it, and at times you don't. His flush sister. A September, is not like that at all so not sure where he gets it. The third embryo is just a few weeks old, so hard to tell at this point on him. But he has tons of bone...

    Lock n Load bull

This is our 9 month old bull sired by Lock N Load and out of SS U Nights Misty donor cow. We bought three embryos from the Lazy H sale, and got all three to stick. We put the other two eggs in for fall calves, and have a cute September heifer calf with a white face and just a few weeks ago had...

    buying frozen embryos

I buy embryos. We put them in our best cows. we found our conception went way up when we switched to Vitaferm Conceptaid. We I only use natural heats on our cows, and our embryologist comes out 7 days after the cow is standing to put them in. So no traveling for the cow. We usually get two of...

    Implanting embryos

So, I have question if anyone has experience in this area; Our embryologist was out a few days ago to put in an embryo. We have been using this guy for several years, he is really good (but has his faults too, like anyone else in life). Seems they are packing embryos a little different than the...

    upgrade birthweights

Bingo Xbar. We have had several Upgrade calves, already 5 this fall, and many before. A Ruby half blood heifer, weighing just at 1000, we bred to heifer sexed semen. She calved unassisted with an 82 pound calf. I expect my heifers to be able to do this. All of our calves have been in the mid to...

Our state sale is Saturday, November 22. If any of you are planing on coming over and checking out the cattle, make sure you stop in and say hi to us! We would love to see any of you. New Simmental Heifer, Suggestions?

It really depends on where you want to take your program. We love Upgrades, have three fall calves out there right now, and several cows in production. You got to watch structure with him, they tend to be a little straight in the rear, and pop pasterns. But if your heifer has good flex I would...

    Sandeen Upper Class

Seeing his first calves I am pretty excited. Anyone seen them in person? They sure pictured well, and I am wondering what kind of cows he is working with?

    Simmental heifer by Grandmaster

Here is a little gem we took to farm fest with us. She is just a Feb born heifer, out of a first calf heifer (FELT Next Big Thing), sired by Grandmaster. I like using him on heifers because we consistently get this kind of calf from him, and have only ever had one bull calf sired by him. She was...

    Lock N Load

Genex is now selling his semen, at $75 a straw. I called my rep today to see if he was collecting, with his broken leg and all, and she said he was. I ordered half a cane. She said it would be in the next shipment she gets. Now to figure out what to use him on....  ;D I got a real nice cow that...

    Lock N Load

We bought 3 embryos from one of the Lazy H sales, Lock n Load x SS Misty U Nights. We were fortunate enough to get three pregnancies, with a spring bull calf, a fall heifer, and the last one due in January. I am super impressed. The bull is solid black, but big boned and stout. He will remain a...

    Livestock Trailer Decals

Ours was done by a local guy that races cars. He had the decal machine and everything, we just left our trailer there and it was done overnight. Cheap to!

    dna testing

Yes, and it is very simple. Many companies will do it, and all you have to do is send in a hair sample or blood sample. You order the card from the company, and then send it back with the sample included. Simmental handles all of that for us, we just tell them we want to test, and what for, and...

    Simmental heifer

She is that lovely Club King brown! Hard to dye that out of them... we have one we showed this year, same color and lots of dye to try to cover it. I like her though... is her dam TNC Sweet Dream?
