Opinions on flushing a 20 year old cow

If she has proven herself to you through her previous calves, I would give it a try. If she still cycles regularly you could still get a somewhat decent flush out of her, sometimes with those old cows you never know when they're going to start going down hill so if you want to flush her I...

    Upright Pipes in Washracks

Some friends of mine just put in a new wash rack, they spaced there bars every 24 inches in between pipes for calves then the space from that to the next set of bars in 29 inches I believe. That was they can put calves in the 24 inch whole but if they need to clip fat steers they can still put...

Looking for shorthorn/ shorthorn plus steer in or around NE

My little brother wants to take a shorthorn steer to the junior national show next year in Grand Island. I looked at Sullivan's club calf sale last year thinking they would have some but I didn't see any. Thinking more of a purebred but open to plus's too. Anyone have any other suggestions to go...

    My eyes have been opened!

Took some bulls to Voglers the other day to get collected. Figured while I was there I would take a look at the new clubby bulls since I've never had the chance of seeing any of them in person. Now I've read on here about how short they are and I've always known they were short but I didn't...

    Monop 4&5

Recently flushed with Monopoly 4 semen and got 12 good eggs, which is about how many that cow usually flushes so I guess I didn't notice a difference

I Da Man - Hero or Hype?

just had a I Da Man heifer out of an older 3D cow around 90 lbs. Only a few days old but only think I would knock her on now is she doesn't have massive hair but other than that she's stout and has some bone to her. Like I said only a couple days old, time will tell

Wet distillers as creep feed, any try it?

Was thinking of using wet distillers as creep feed this summer on a small group of calves. Have easy access to plenty of it and creep feed from the feed store is a little pricey. Would have to feed everyday since there would be no way to limit them on it. Am going to talk to our nutritionist...

    I80 Full Brother

I think I like the looks of the full brother better compared to the original, looks more functional but like you said, they probably won't be called out of the full brother

    I80 Full Brother

Does anyone have calves out of him yet? Looks like a nice option to use in heifers. He's 3 this year, figured maybe someone had some opinions of him

    QUESTION

When we use to cook it, I think we only cooked like 2 cups twice a days but the barley expands quite a bit, it's a pain to do and the one summer we used it I didn't see a difference, but we only used it on two steers

    Flushing options??

I don't think that at all, I simply don't know every bull out there and how ever bull breeds, isn't this what this forum is for to ask suggestions and get feedback from other people. Maybe someone else has a cow similar is type to mine and has tried something that has or hasn't worked in the past.

    Flushing options??

Have a cow that needs frame bone and body. She is a clubby bred cow but I want to take her back to take her back to a maternal bull (thinking Simmental and Charolais) and looking for suggestions. Have thought of chopper and firewater but don't think there bring enough body to the table. She is...

Simmental bull on Commercial Angus Heifers

I forget to mention the reason for my concern is that they are marked as calving ease but there birth weights seem to be a little high. Built Right--87 lbs In Dew Time-- 82 lbs Goldmine-- 84 lbs Ranch Hand-- 91 lbs This is a huge difference when angus bull sired calves are in the 60-70 lb range
