What do you think of Fort Worth Steer Show?

Im not gonna type long on here. I watched both days... Thought the judge was lost, cocky in only pulling 10 calves, and i saw several top 5 calves walk straight out the gate. He liked them deep ribbed, and flanked, so show stopper, idk what ur talking about, i didnt see him use any i thought...

Meanings of terms - Neeed Help! Updated List

Actually, cattle being called toady, are not being called that because they are fat. they are calling them toady, because they are small framed, and fatten early, at a lower weight then desired.

    Market Heifer

A professor i once had used this statement quite often, and as far as ive seen its pretty true. "The most masculine males will produce the most feminine femeales, and the most feminine females, will produce the most masculine males." Now with this said, breeding heifers can be heavy muscled, but...

    Thoughts on a Steer

He looks nice, got a real cutability look to him. I would like to see him a bit softer, but that may come with age and feed. As for the guy asking about breeding to milkman: He throws some really good calves, but i have heard many horror stories of really high birthweights.

    Brig Stewart or Yochum Jr?

From my experience, anybody who is a good judge, likes good ones. There are two types in the cattle business as far as steers go. Theres the soggy made, easy feeding steer, whose sound as a cat, has enough muscle and provides a good look from the profile. Then there's the heavy muscled...

    Ft Worth.

I won a major show, and yes i did use the money to go to school. I also did not have a dozen $XX,XXX steers in my barn. I only had 5 high dollar ones in my whole career. The rest stayed around that 3-8,000 dollar range. Yes my 2 most expensive ones were the two that i did the best with, and i...

The Black steer out of class 11(green shirt) was very big, i dont know his weight, but i saw him thursday going into the washrack, asked tracy haymes, who was with him, what class and he said 11. It broke at 1362, thats at the very topside of what u would want a champ to weigh. so to  answer...

    Ft Worth.

I havent seen a single show that someone didnt bring up politics in the aftermath, I guess its human nature to make excuses for getting beat but come on, this steer was dang good, he had holes, but ive never seen one that didn't. As for the shorthorn, I thought he was very small and looking at...
