    Breeding Minerals

Been using the 8% for about 5 years with excellent results. Previously used DAC Breeders Choice on our donors and tubs for the brood cows but with the ROWE I get the same results for a fraction of the cost.  We typically bring the donors in 4 weeks prior to setting them up and they get a...

    Liveauction questions

Bought through them and several of the others. Never had a problem with my purchases even bought one from Canada. Liveauctions does charge a $50 annual membership fee which I don't like but you either pay it or don't use the service. Have run into a few connection interruptions that caused me to...

    Blower Hose Replacement

I am in need of replacing my 2" hose for a double blower set up. My original Sullivan has been okay but I have had to cut it down several times here recently because of blow outs. I saw a few people in Denver last year and at KILE this year with an all black hose that looks pretty heavy duty and...

    Indoor Washrack Dimensions

We built ours 10' wide x 12' deep , if you put something in to stop them from moving side to side it works okay, if not its to small and even calves can get you cornered. If I had it to do again it would be 16' wide and at least 12' deep. If you wash big bulls and heifers you have some water...

Starting in the Show Cattle Business

Not trying to change the subject but this is the most I've seen posted about people using recip co-ops/operations to calve out ET calves.  I am in Maryland and have been searching for such an operation somewhat close to me for a few years.  We have done some flushing and bought a few eggs and...

    Hereford Breeding Suggestions

I vote for About Time if you can get it. Got a first calf heifer out of a Reload/MSU Star Headliner cow and she is definitely deeper and maybe a tick wider at the base than mom was as a baby. She came 60lbs but man is she growing and real easy on the eyes.  I like Durango but i'm out to lunch on...

    Flushing Question

We typically flush between 45 and 60 days after calving (leaning towards the 60 day end) with no issues and have bred back the very next natural heat. Don't know that this is typical but it works for us.

    Hair Question!!!!

Been using Tasco brand Kelp for several years on the show calves and with lots of daily management have been able to keep hair on the ones who tend to be good haired. A lot of it is plain genetics we've had herefords and angus calves that barely have any hair in the dead of winter.  Are you sure...

    embryo transfer

OK, Wow that sounds like a pretty good deal.  I just flushed two last month and got 4 grade ones out of one and 21 grade ones out of the other and had to toss the others because the bill was racking up.  It costs us $700 in drugs and fees and then $50 freeze charge per egg and another $50...
